Notification of the Payment of Money on and Entry
into Negotiations for the Purchase of Native Lands
in the North Island.

HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.

IN pursuance of the provisions of "The Govern-
ment Native Land Purchases Act, 1877," it is
hereby notified that money has been paid by or on
behalf of Her Majesty the Queen for the purchase
or acquisition of the several blocks of Native land
in the North Island which are more particularly
described and mentioned in the Schedule hereto;
and, further, that negotiations in respect of such pur-
chases or acquisitions as aforesaid have been entered
into by or on behalf of Her said Majesty.

SCHEDULE.

TATARAMOA.

ALL that parcel of land in the District of Wanganui,
in the Provincial District of Wellington, known by
the name of Tataramoa, containing by estimation
5,000 acres or thereabouts. Boundaries: Commenc-
ing at Tataramoa, thence in a northerly direction to
Makotuku Stream, and following that stream in a
north-westerly direction to Te Iwi Iwi; thence to
Mangatukituki, thence turning in a westerly direc-
tion to Taruamouku, thence turning in a southerly
drection to Tihei, thence to Oturia and on to Ukuroa,
thence to Te Papa, thence to Te Kopuru, turning to
the East to Oturiaiti, thence to Oturianui, and on to
Tataramoa, the starting point. This block has not
passed the Native Land Court.

TARUAMOUKU.

All that parcel of land in the District of Wanganui,
in the Provincial District of Wellington, known by
the name of Taruamouku, containing by estimation
2,000 acres or thereabouts. Boundaries: Com-
mencing at Taruamouku, thence to Mataimoana Trig.
Station, thence to Weratupua, joining the survey line
there, and following it in an easterly direction to
Ohineriki; thence turning to Kaitangiariki and on to
Taruamouku, the starting point. This block has not
passed the Native Land Court.
