Season for Shooting Hares in part of Otago.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by "The Protection of Animals Act,
1873," and by "The Abolition of Provinces Act,
1875," and in exercise of every power enabling me in
that behalf, I, Hercules George Robert Robinson,
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare that hares shall be open to be
hunted, shot, taken, or killed, within the Counties of
Waikouaiti, Maniototo, Vincent, Lake, Peninsula,
Taieri, Bruce, Clutha, and Tuapeka, between the first
day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine, and the thirty-first day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-nine, both days inclusive,
but only between the hours of sunrise and sunset.

guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,

Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-ninth day of May, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-nine.

Revocation of Exemption of certain Land from Occu-
pation for Mining, &c., Purposes within the Hauraki
Gold-Mining District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the nine-
teenth day of April, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-three, under the hand and seal of
Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, issued by virtue of the
powers delegated to him by the Governor in Council
under "The Gold-Mining Districts Act, 1871," the
piece of land situated within the Hauraki Gold-Min-
ing District, particularly described in the Schedule
hereto, was exempted from occupation for mining
purposes, or for machine sites, or for business, or for
residence: And whereas it is expedient and desirable
that the said exemption should be revoked:
Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert Robin-
son, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the fifth section of "The Gold-Mining Districts Act,
1871," and the ninth section of the Gold-Mining
Districts Act, 1873," do hereby revoke the exemp-
tion contained in the Proclamation above mentioned,
and referring to the land described in the Schedule
hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece of land situated within the watershed
of the Waterfall Creek, Tararu Block, bounded on all
sides by unoccupied ground and by straight lines
bearing northerly 50°, distance 303 links; easterly
174° 30', distance 300 links; southerly 230°, distance
303 links; westerly 354°, distance 300 links: contain-
ing 3 roods.
