Wellington.

THE following notice received from His Worship
the Mayor of Wellington is published in accord-
ance with section 145 of "The Municipal Corpora-
tions Act, 1876."

BOROUGH OF THE CITY OF WELLINGTON.—
£100,000 LOAN.
NOTICE is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers
of the Borough of the City of Wellington was taken
on the 22nd day of April, 1879, in accordance with
clause 142 of "The Municipal Corporations Act,
1876," to decide as to the advisability of raising a
loan of £100,000 in terms of the subjoined advertise-
ment, and that the result of the said poll, as certified
to by the Returning Officer, was—For, 951; against,
571; majority for, 380; being a majority in excess of
that required by clause 143 of the aforesaid Act.

BOROUGH OF THE CITY OF WELLINGTON.--
£100,000 LOAN.
I DO hereby give notice that a poll of the burgesses
of the Borough of the City of Wellington will be
taken on Tuesday, the 22nd day of April instant, upon
the proposal to raise a special loan of £100,000, to be
expended for the purposes mentioned in the notice, a
copy of which is set forth in the Schedule hereto, and
that I have given notice in writing to the Returning
Officer for the said borough requiring him to take
such poll on the said 22nd day of April instant.
As witness my hand, this 15th day of April, 1879.

SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.—£100,000 LOAN.
I, THE undersigned, Joe Dransfield, Mayor of the
City of Wellington, do hereby give notice that the
Municipal Corporation of the City of Wellington
propose to undertake the construction of the works
particularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and
for that purpose to raise by way of loan the sum of
£100,000, and to charge such loan upon a special
rate of 7d. in the pound upon the rateable property
in the city; and I do hereby call a meeting of the
burgesses of the said city, to be held in the Athenæum
Hall on Wednesday, the 9th April next, at 8 o'clock
in the evening of that day, to consider and discuss
the said proposal.

Trustees of the Greymouth Racecourse Reserve,
up to 31st March, 1879.

Nil. Unexpired term of lease of Racecourse Re-
serve to be put up to public auction on Wednesday,

Liabilities.
Nil.
I, James Payne, Honorary Treasurer for the
Trustees of the Greymouth Racecourse Reserve, do
solemnly declare that the above is a true statement
of the assets and liabilities in connection with the
above reserve up to 31st March.

EFERRING to the notice published in the New
Zealand Gazette No. 36, of the 26th of April,
1878, relative to the Australian International Ex-
hibition to be held in Sydney, New South Wales, in
August, 1879, it is hereby further notified that the
Government of New Zealand will be prepared to
receive and to forward to Sydney any articles for
exhibition which may be prepared by persons resi-
dent in this colony.
