NOTICE is hereby given that the several parcels
of land hereinafter described will be brought
under the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act,
1870," unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same
within one month from the date of the gazetting this
notice.

NOTICE is hereby given that JOHN MITCHELL
LOMAS, of Dunedin, Clerk, claiming as
Devisee under the Will of JOHN LOMAS, late of
Dunedin, Marble-mason, deceased, has made appli-
cation to the District Land Registrar of the District
of Otago to be registered as Proprietor of an estate
in fee-simple of Allotment 17 on the plan of the
Township of Darley; and that he will be so registered
unless caveat be lodged in this office forbidding the
same within one calendar month from the date of the
publication of this notice.

NOTICE is hereby given that WILLIAM
ST. PAUL GELLIBRAND and WALTER
ANGUS BETHUNE GELLIBRAND, both of
the Colony of Tasmania, Esquires, claiming as
Devisees under a codicil to the Will of THOMAS
LLOYD GELLIBRAND, late of the Ouse, in Tasmania
aforesaid, deceased, have made application to the
District Land Registrar of the District of Otago to
be registered as Proprietors as joint tenants of an
estate in fee-simple in one undivided half part of
Sections numbered respectively 70R and 71R, Block
I., on the map of the Waikouaiti District; and that
they will be so registered as such proprietors unless
caveat be lodged in this office forbidding the same
within one calendar month from the date of publica-
tion of this notice.

IN THE MATTER OF A BILL TO ENABLE THE NEW
PLYMOUTH GAS COMPANY (LIMITED) TO SUPPLY
THE TOWN OF NEW PLYMOUTH AND SUBURBS
WITH GAS.
NOTICE is hereby given that application is in-
tended to be made to the General Assembly of
New Zealand, by the New Plymouth Gas Company
(Limited), to bring in a Bill to authorize the New
Plymouth Gas Company to supply the Town of New
Plymouth and its suburbs with gas, and to grant to
the said Company the following powers and authori-
ties, that is to say,-
-
To open and break up, under the superinten-
dence of the persons having the control of the same, the
soil and pavements and streets within the Town of
New Plymouth and its suburbs; to break up bridge-
sewers, drains, or sewers; and to erect pillars and
lamps; and to do other works necessary or expedient
for supplying gas to the Town of New Plymouth
aforesaid. -
To contract with the Corporation of the Borough
of New Plymouth, or with any other person or
persons therein or within its suburbs, for supplying
gas or letting meters to them or any of them. -
To enter upon buildings to ascertain the quanti-
ties of gas consumed. -
To levy tolls or rents for gas consumed, and to
cut off and take away the supply of gas, and to enter
upon buildings and take away gas pipes on non-pay-
ment of such tolls or rents. -
To erect gasworks within the Town of New
Plymouth and its suburbs. -
The limits within which it is intended that the
said gasworks shall be erected shall be as follows:
All lands lying within a radius of five miles from the
south-eastern corner of Section 647, Town of New
Plymouth.
It is also purposed to erect works for the making
and supplying of gas upon Sections 845 and 846,
Town of New Plymouth.
Copies of the proposed Bill will be deposited in the
office of the Examiner of Standing Orders on or before
the 30th day of June, 1879.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT WATER-
RACE.
To the Mining Registrar at Clyde of the Clyde
Mining District, and all other persons whom it
may concern.
TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Water-race and divert water for mining pur-
poses, commencing at a point at Shingle Creek,
including both branches of the forks, and terminat-
ing on the east bank of the Molyneux River, about
half a mile below Mr. Mervyn's residence,
The length of such race is ten miles or thereabouts,
and its intended course is south-east, passing through
Allen's Hill paddock.
The mean depth of such race is 2 feet, and the
mean breadth is 5 feet, and it is proposed to divert
twenty-five Government-heads of water.
Time estimated for construction, twelve months.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.
To the Mining Registrar at Cromwell of the Dunstan
Mining District, and all other persons whom it
may concern.
TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Water-race and divert water from the Nineteen-
Mile Creek, Mount Pisa, about half a mile above the
Wanaka Road, and terminating at my farm at my
homestead, under the provisions of and for all the
purposes comprised and described in section 31 of
"The Mines Act, 1877."
The time required for the construction of the said
race is one month, and a license is asked for fifteen
years.
The mean depth and breadth of such race is 2 feet
