which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Administrator of the Government of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance
of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the
land in the Provincial District of Auckland described
in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose
in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land being Lots 285 and 286 of
the Parish of Waimana, in Block II. of the Whaka-
tane Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland,
containing 40 acres 2 roods 18 perches. Bounded on
the North by a road, 1430 links; on the East by a
road, the western and southern boundary of Lot 263
of the said Parish of Waimana, the termination of a
road 100 links wide, by a line, and again by a road,
3346 links; on the South by a road, 2617 links; and
on the West by the eastern boundary of Lot 287 of
the said Parish of Waimana, 2225 links. For a re-
creation-ground.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
eleventh day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine.

Changing the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," it is, amongst other
things, enacted that the Governor may declare his in-
tention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedi-
cation of any public reserve now or hereafter vested
in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the pur-
poses named in Part II. of the Schedule to the said
Act, whether the same be granted or not; and, in the
case of any reserves made under the authority of
section one hundred and forty-four of "The Land
Act, 1877," if it shall, in the opinion of the
Governor, be expedient to change the purpose
of such reserves or any part thereof from the
purpose or presumed purpose for which it was
set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the
opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange
any of the land comprised in such reserve for other
land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more
purposes named in the said Part II., the Governor
may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention
to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the
case may be, and in such notice declare the manner
and terms in which the same is intended to be so
made:

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Administrator of the Government of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by "The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act,
1878," aforesaid, change the specific purpose of the
reserve described in the first column of the said
Schedule hereto to the specific purpose set opposite
such description in the third column of the said
Schedule, and such land shall henceforth be deemed
to be reserved and set apart for such last-mentioned
specific purpose, and no other.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Reserve. Area of which the Purpose is intended to be Changed. Intended Purpose
Part of Na- tive Reserve number one (No. 1), in the Grey District, in the Pro- vincial District of Taranaki, containing thir- ty-nine (39) acres and thirty (30) perches. Bounded to- wards the North by a line one hundred (100) feet from high water mark, eight hundred and sixteen (816) links; towards the East and South-east by part of the same reserve, twenty nine hundred and eighteen (2918) links and thir- teen hundred and sixty five (1365) links; towards the South by part of the same reserve, two hundred and twenty four (224) links and six hundred and one (601) liuks; and towards the South-west and West by part of the same re- serve, fifteen hundred and forty-five (1545) links, and the Barrett Road, twenty nine hundred and sixty-five (2965) links. All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Taranaki, containing one (1) acre and eight (8) perches, more or less, being part of the piece of land known as the Prison Reserve, formerly part of Native Reserve No. 1, Fitzroy District, situate in Block 4 of the Paritutu Sur- vey District. Bounded to- wards the North by other part of the said Prison Re- serve, one thousand and twenty-eight (1028) links; towards the East by Native Reserve No. 1, one hundred and forty-one (141) links; towards the South by other part of the said Prison Re- serve, one thousand and sixty-seven (1067) links; and towards the West by Barrett Road, one hundred and seventeen (117) links. For a public highway.
