Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Taranaki.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation :

And whereas by Proclamation dated the first day
of November, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 110, of the seventh day of November,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, the
land described in the Schedule hereto was proclaimed
and declared open to free selection at a price of not
less than one pound per acre for rural land:

And whereas the Land Board of Taranaki did,
on the fifth day of March, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine, pass a resolution recom-
mending that the land described in the Schedule
hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on
deferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Administrator of the Government of
the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority vested in me
by the above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto is set apart for sale on deferred payments;
and that Thursday, the first day of May, one thou-
sand eight hundred and seventy-nine, shall be the
day on which the said land shall be open for appli-
cation.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The New Zealand University
Act, 1874," it is, amongst other things,
enacted that the block of land in the Province of
Taranaki, consisting of ten thousand acres, taken
under the New Zealand Settlements Act, and
referred to in the Schedule to "The University
Endowments Act, 1868," shall be defined by
Proclamation by the Governor as soon as con-
veniently may be after the passing of "The New
Zealand University Act, 1874," aforesaid, and shall
thereafter be deemed to have been reserved under
the said "University Endowment Act, 1868 :"

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority contained in the hereinbefore in part
recited Act, and of every other power and authority
in that behalf enabling me, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the land defined in the Schedule hereto
shall be and the same is hereby deemed to have
been reserved under the provisions of "The Univer-
sity Endowment Act, 1868," aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment ten thousand (10,000) acres, more or less,
situate in the Carlyle and Opaku Survey District.
Bounded towards the North by the Nukuhau Stream
and a road line, twenty-two thousand and fifty (22050)
links; towards the East by a road line, seventy-five
thousand one hundred and fifty (75150) links;
towards the South by Section numbered four hun-
dred and forty-four (444), Okotuku Block, and
waste land, thirty-one thousand and eighty (31080)
links; and towards the West by waste land, thirty-
two thousand six hundred (32600) links, and the
Whenuakura River: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less.
