A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and autho-
rities enabling me in that behalf, I, James
Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and declare that, by Order in Council made under
the provisions of "The Bank Holidays Act, 1873,"
of even date herewith, I have appointed Friday, the
twenty-eighth day of March instant, to be observed
as a bank holiday, under and for the purposes of the
above-mentioned Act, within the Borough of New
Plymouth and the County of Taranaki.

James Prendergast, Esquire, Adminis-
trator of the Government in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal
of the said Colony, at Government
House, at Wellington, this twentieth day

Proclaiming Crown Terrace Hundred in Otago under
"The Land Act, 1877."

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section thirteen of Appendix H.
of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that
it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time,
by Proclamation published in the New Zealand
Gazette, to constitute into a hundred any portion of
the Crown lands not forming part of any hundred
previously proclaimed, notwithstanding that such
lands or any part thereof shall be comprised within
any pastoral lease or license heretofore or hereafter
to be granted by the Crown under any law regu-
lating the occupation or disposal of Crown lands,
and whether or not the same shall have been included
within the boundaries of any proclaimed Gold Field:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Ad-
ministrator of the Government of the Colony of
New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers vested in me by the hereinbefore in part
recited Act, do hereby proclaim that the portion of
the waste lands particularly described in the Schedule
hereto shall be and the same is hereby constituted
into a hundred, under and for the purposes of the
said Act; and that it shall be called or known by the
name set above the description of the said hundred
in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
CROWN TERRACE HUNDRED.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement four thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine (4,879) acres one (1) rood
and two (2) poles, more or less, situate in the Shot-
over and Kawarau Survey Districts, being parts of
Blocks I. and VII., Kawarau Survey District, and
parts of Blocks VIII. and X., Shotover Survey
District. Bounded as follows: Commencing at
the north-east corner of Section 1, Block VII.,
Kawarau Survey District, and proceeding thence
in a line due West, seventeen thousand six hun-
dred and seventy (17670) links; thence in a
South-westerly direction along a road line, six thou-
sand seven hundred and twenty-nine (6729) links, to
the eastern boundary of Section 21, Block X., Shot-
over District; thence due South along said eastern
boundary of Section 21, two thousand two hundred
and six (2206) links; thence due West along southern
boundary of said Section 21, through Trig. Station Q,
one thousand nine hundred and eighty-nine (1989)
links; thence due South, eight thousand and seventy-
five and eight-tenths (8075 8) links; thence in a
line bearing S. 13° 52′ E., seven thousand and sixty-
seven (7067) links; thence in a line bearing S. 40° W.,
two thousand four hundred and ninety-four (2494)
links; thence in a line bearing S. 50° E., eight
thousand three hundred and sixty-eight and five-
tenths (8368.5) links, to the boundary between
Shotover and Kawarau Districts; thence due
South, one thousand four hundred (1400) links;
thence in a line bearing S. 50° E., three thousand one
hundred and fifty-four and six-tenths (3154.6) links ;
thence due North, four thousand six hundred and
twelve (4612) links; thence in a line bearing N.
50° 59′ E., six thousand nine hundred and sixty-two
(6962) links, along the mining reserve Swiftburn,
to a road line; thence along the said road line in an
Easterly direction bearing 97° 14', two hundred and
fifty-three (253) links; thence in a line bearing N.
58° 25′ E., one thousand four hundred and seventy
(1470) links, to Sub-Trig. A, Kawarau District,
(Block VII.); thence in a line bearing N. 45° E.,
five thousand six hundred and seventy-four (5674)
links, to the southern boundary of Section 16, Block
VII., Kawarau District; thence in a line due East
along the said southern boundary of Section 16,
three thousand nine hundred and sixty-eight (3968)
links, to the road line along the summit of Crown
Range; thence in a Northerly direction along the
west side of the said road line, seventeen thousand
four hundred and twenty-five (17425) links, to the
starting point. The above area includes all reserves
and road lines and other areas within the boundaries
described.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fourth section of "The Crown
Lands Sales Act, 1877," it is enacted that,
from and after the coming into operation of that Act,
and until further provision is made for the classifica-
tion of Crown lands by the General Assembly, all
Crown lands shall be sold in accordance with the
law in force in the land district where such lands are
