Reserved Lands authorized to be sold.

NORMANDY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eleventh day of February, 1879.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Sale Act,
1878," it is, among other things, enacted that
the lands described in the Schedule may at any time
after the passing of the said Act be sold by the
Governor, upon such terms as shall be regulated by
Order in Council:

And whereas the lands described in the Schedule
are required to be sold as town lands, and it is
expedient that the terms of such sale should be
defined:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities aforesaid, do
hereby order and direct that the land described in
the Schedule hereto shall be sold upon the following
terms, that is to say,-

  1. The Governor shall cause the said land to be
    sold by public auction, as town lands, at Christchurch.
  2. No land shall be sold at a less price than thirty
    pounds per acre.
  3. Three months' notice of the date and place of
    the sale shall be given by the Commissioner of Crown
    Lands, by advertisement in at least one newspaper
    circulating in Canterbury, such notice to be inserted
    at least once in each month.
  4. The lands shall all be sold in sections, as shown
    upon the survey plan in the office of the Chief Sur-
    veyor of Canterbury, at Christchurch.
  5. Sections forty-three and forty-four of "The
    Land Act, 1877," are hereby declared to be part of
    the terms upon which the said lands shall be sold,
    and shall take effect accordingly, so far as the same
    are consistent with these terms.
  6. Upon full payment of the purchase-money, the
    purchaser will be entitled to his Crown grant, to be
    issued in the usual way upon payment of the fees
    prescribed by law.

TOWNSHIP OF Horndon, being part of Reserves 1748,
1749, and 1750.
Township of Courtenay, being parts of Reserves
1751, 1754, and 1760.
Township of Hinds, Reserve 1371.
Township of Dromore, being Reserve 1770 and
part of Reserve 1467.

Naseby Town Lands classed as Suburban Lands.

NORMANBY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eleventh day of February, 1879.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the thirty-ninth section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Land Board, subject to the approval of
the Governor, at any time and from time to time, to
declare, by notice in the Gazette, that any land not
already classified shall belong to either of the classes
referred to in the thirty-eighth section of the said
Act; and also that any land shall cease to belong to
either of the said classes, provided that no land
which has been declared to be town or suburban land
shall cease to belong to such classes respectively,
without the consent previously obtained of the Go-
vernor in Council:

And whereas the Land Board of Otago is desi-
rous of declaring that the lands specified in the
Schedule hereto, which have been heretofore classed
as town lands, shall cease to belong to such class, and
shall be classed as suburban lands:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the colony, and in exercise and pursuance
of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said
Act, doth hereby consent to the Land Board afore-
said declaring that the lands specified in the Schedule
hereto shall cease to be classed as town lands, and
doth hereby approve and consent to the said Board
declaring that such lands shall be classed as sub-
urban lands.

Brigade, for "Charles Gordon Brown to be Lieutenant," read "Charles Gordon Brown to be Sub-Lieutenant."
