Navigation Board, received from the Commis-
sioner of Trade and Customs, Melbourne, is published
for general information.

REGULATION OF THE VICTORIA STEAM NAVIGATION
BOARD.

THE following regulation of the Victoria Steam
Navigation Board, which has been approved by the
Governor in Council under the 116th section of
"The Passengers, Harbours, and Navigation Statute,
1865," is published for general information; to take
effect on and after the date of the publication hereof.

Regulation.

Every steam vessel navigating any river or narrow
channel within any port shall keep, as far as prac-
ticable, to that side of the fairway or mid-channel
thereof which lies on the starboard side of such
vessel, and shall, at least for a distance of five
hundred yards before approaching, and whilst round-
ing, any bend in the said rivers or narrow channels,
sound the steam whistle at least once every half
minute, so as to give sufficient warning to any
approaching vessel, and thereby lessen the risk of
collision.
