the Colony.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and
authorities enabling me in that behalf, I, Her-
cules George Robert Robinson, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and
declare that, by an Order in Council made under the
provisions of "The Bank Holidays Act, 1873," and
bearing even date herewith, I have declared that
Saturday, the twenty-seventh day of Decemberinstant,
shall be a bank holiday throughout the Colony of
New Zealand, under and for the purposes of the
said Act.

Given under the hand of His Excellency
Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
seventeenth day of December, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-nine.

Time for Meeting of Westland County Council to
elect Chairman extended.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
seventeenth day of December, 1879.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Westland County Council, at its
annual meeting held on the twenty-sixth day
of November, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-nine, in accordance with the provisions of
the fifty-fourth section of "The Counties Act, 1876,"
did not succeed in the election of a Chairman for
the ensuing year: Now, therefore, His Excellency
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
virtue and in exercise of the power and authority
vested in him by the two hundred and eleventh
section of the said Act, and of all other powers
enabling him in that behalf, and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
doth hereby order that the time of the meeting of
the Council of the County of Westland for the
purpose of electing a Chairman shall be extended to
the second Thursday in the month of January, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty, and the meeting
of the said Council for the said purpose is hereby
fixed for the before-mentioned day accordingly.

Trustee appointed for Huirangi Cemetery.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and au-
thorities vested in me by the fourth section of
"The Cemeteries Management Act, 1877," I, Sir
Hercules George Robert Robinson, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

WILLIAM J. CLEAVE
to be a Trustee in place of George Gibson Andrews,
who has resigned, to provide for the maintenance and
care of the Huirangi Public Cemetery, in conjunc-
tion with the other persons appointed by warrant
under the hand of His Excellency the Governor on
the thirtieth day of August, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this eleventh day of December,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine.
