Appointing Mehaka Ngahue Trustee under "The
Maori Real Estate Management Act, 1867."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
second day of December, 1879.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Maori Real Estate Manage-
ment Act, 1867" (hereinafter called "the said
Act"), it is enacted that, if any title to or interest in
any hereditaments shall accrue to any Maoris, who
or any of whom shall be infants, lunatics, or under
legal disability, it shall be lawful for the Governor in
Council, if he think fit, to order that such here-
ditaments, or any part thereof or interest therein, as
shall to the Governor in Council be shown to belong
to such infant, or lunatic, or other person under legal
disability, shall be vested in trustees, as the Governor
in Council shall think fit:
And whereas by an order bearing date the twentieth
day of December, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-six, under the hand of John Rogan, Esquire,
Judge of the Native Land Court, under the seal of
the said Court, it was ordered that a memorial of the
ownership of Peraniko Patio to the land and heredita-
ments described in the Schedule hereto be inscribed
on the Court rolls:
And whereas the said Aperaniko Patio is an infant
under the age of twenty-one years, and it is expedient
that Mehaka Ngahue be appointed trustee under the
said Act, on behalf of the said Aperaniko Patio (a
minor fourteen years old):
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the colony, in exercise and in
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the said Act, doth hereby order that the interest
and share of the said Aperaniko Patio in the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall be and
remain vested in
MEHAKA NGAHUE,
as Trustee, within the meaning and for the purposes
of the said Act, for the said Aperaniko Patio during
his minority.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Auckland, containing by admeasurement twenty-
one thousand five hundred and twenty (21520)
acres, more or less, situate at Tologa Bay, in the Dis-
trict of Hawke's Bay, being called or known by the
name of Arakihi. Bounded towards the North-east
by the Puremungahua Block and the Whakaurunga
River, 54351 links; towards the South-east by the
said river, 43000 links; towards the South by the
Mangarara Stream, the Waimata North Block, and
the Waihora No. 2 Block, 31451 links; towards the
South-west by the Hinakiwawahia Stream, Te
Kaitangata Stream, the Motumuka Stream, and the
Waingaromia No. 3 Block, 63500 links; and towards
the North-west by the Waingaromia No. 1 Block, the
Makahakahangarara
River, and the Paraheka Block, 43875 links.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
Land temporarily reserved in the Provincial District
of Southland.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby
temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Pro-
vincial District of Southland described in the Schedule
hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Sche-
dule specified.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Southland Division of
the Provincial District of Otago, containing by
admeasurement 40 acres more or less, being Sections
45, 46, 31, and 32 on the map of the Township of
Hodgkinson. Bounded on the North by Tamworth
Street, 1468 links; on the East by Sections 47 and
30 of said township, 27274 links; on the South
by Bridport Street, 1468 links; and on the West by
Sections 33 and 44 of said township, 27274 links.
For the purposes of recreation.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this eighth day of December,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine.

less, situate in the Provincial District of Nelson,
being Section No. 9, Block II., Ohika Survey District.
Bounded on the North-east by Section No. 7 and
Crown land, 1361.3 links; on the South by a road
reserve along the bank of the River Buller, 1400
links; and on the North-west by Section No. 8,
10601 links. For the purpose of a ferry.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twenty-ninth day of
November, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-nine.
