LAND TRANSFER NOTICE.

JOHN FORBES, of Gisborne, Poverty Bay, in the
Provincial District of Auckland, Architect,
having made an affidavit of the loss of a certificate,
Vol. ii., folio 292, for part of Section 49, Township of
Gisborne, I hereby give notice that I shall issue a
provisional certificate to the said John Forbes for the
said land on the expiration of fourteen days after the
date of the Gazette containing this notice, unless
caveat be lodged at this office in the meantime.
Dated at the Lands Registry Office, Napier, this
22nd day of October, 1879.

PATENT FOR AN INVENTION FOR STRAINING
THE WIRE IN WIRE FENCES.

THIS is to notify that RICHARD KNOWLES PAR-
KERSON, of Arowhenua, in the County of Geral-
dine, Canterbury, New Zealand, did, on this twenty-
third day of October instant, deposit at the office of
the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secretary's Office,
in Wellington, a specification or instrument in writ-
ing under his hand and seal, particularly describing
and ascertaining the nature of the said Invention,
and in what manner the same is to be performed;
and that by reason of such deposit the said Invention
is protected and secured to him exclusively for the
term of six calendar months thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify that the said Richard
Knowles Parkerson has given notice in writing at
my office of his intention to proceed with his applica-
tion for Letters Patent for the said Invention, and
that I have appointed Friday, the twenty-seventh
day of February next, at ten o'clock in the forenoon,
at my office, to hear and consider the said applica-
tion and all objections thereto; and I do hereby
require all persons having an interest in opposing
the grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or
before the twenty-third day of February next, at my
office, in Wellington, particulars in writing of their
objections to the said application, otherwise they will

PATENT FOR AN IMPROVED CULTIVATOR.

INTO SHEAVES.

THIS is to notify that HORATIO BUNTING, of Christ-
church, New Zealand, Nurseryman, did, on the
first day of October instant, deposit at the office of
the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secretary's Office,
in Wellington, a specification or instrument in writing
under his hand and seal, particularly describing and
ascertaining the nature of the said Invention, and in
what manner the same is to be performed; and that
by reason of such deposit the said Invention is pro-
tected and secured to him exclusively for the term of
six calendar months thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify that the said Horatio
Bunting has given notice in writing at my office of
his intention to proceed with his application for
Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I have
appointed Friday, the sixteenth day of January next,
at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at my office, to hear
and consider the said application and all objections
thereto; and I do hereby require all persons having
an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters
Patent to leave, on or before the twelfth day of
January next, at my office in Wellington, particulars
in writing of their objections to the said application,
otherwise they will be precluded from urging the
same.

cation or instrument in writing under his hand and
seal, particularly describing and ascertaining the
nature of the said Invention, and in what manner the
same is to be performed; and that by reason of such
deposit the said Invention is protected and secured
to him exclusively for the term of six calendar months
thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify that the said James
Barbour has given notice in writing at my office of
his intention to proceed with his application for
Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I have
