Application for Registration of Trade Mark.

NOTICE is hereby given that Messrs. P. HAYMAN
and Co., of Dunedin, in the Colony of New
Zealand, Merchants, have applied, on behalf of
Messrs. SOUTHALL BROTHERS and BARCLAY, of
Birmingham, England, to register under the "Trade
Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of which the fol-
lowing is a description, viz. :-

Description of Trade Mark.
The letter and figure "A1" in a circle, in white
character upon a black ground.
Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such
Trade Mark shall apply.
Cod Liver Oil, and all preparations of Cod Liver
Oil.

Prince of Wales' Birthday.—Monday, 10th Novem-
ber, to be observed as a Post Office Holiday.

General Post Office,
Wellington, 29th October, 1879.

As the 9th of November, the Prince of Wales'
Birthday, will this year fall on a Sunday, it
is hereby intimated for general information that
Monday, the 10th day of November, will be observed
as a Public Holiday at all Post Offices within the
colony.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Collingwood on or
before the 12th day of November, 1879.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Collingwood.

SCHEDULE.
APPLICANT: John Grange. Style under which it is
intended to conduct the business: "Queen of Sheba
Gold-Mining Company." Sixteen acres, situate at
Coles Creek, Aorere, in the Golden Bay Mining
District.

Given under my hand, at Nelson, this twenty-
seventh day of October, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-nine.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Westport on or
before the 8th day of November, 1879.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Westport.

SCHEDULE.
APPLICANTS: William Brandon and Timothy Duggan.
Ten acres, near Dirty Mary's Creek, Addison's Road,
in the Nelson South-West Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Nelson, this twenty-
fourth day of October, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine.
