Defining the Middle Line of Portion of Railway
from Napier to a Junction with the Railway from
New Plymouth to Waitara, at Sentry Hill—
(Waverley Section, 7 miles 30 chains).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the railway from Napier to a junc-
tion with the railway from New Plymouth to
Waitara, at Sentry Hill, passing by Pakipaki, Wai-
pawa, Waipukurau, Takapau, the Manawatu Gorge,
Bunnythorpe, and Wanganui, with a branch from
the main line at Bunnythorpe to Foxton through
Palmerston, is one of the railways specified in the
Fourth Schedule to "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
and the same is unfinished, and it has been deter-
mined to construct and maintain a further portion of
such railway :
Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert Robin-
son, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in
exercise conferred on me by sections one hundred and
twenty-two, one hundred and twenty-three, one
hundred and twenty-four, and one hundred and
twenty-five of "The Public Works Act, 1876," and
in exercise of every other power and authority
enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the middle line of the said further por-
tion of said railway shall be from a point situate
in section number three hundred and one to a point
in section number three hundred and thirty-six, all
within the Wairoa Highway District, Provincial Dis-
trict of Wellington. The said middle line and the
land through which the same passes are set forth in
the map and plan marked P.W.D. 7313, and authen-
ticated for the purposes of this Proclamation by
the signature of the Honorable Richard Oliver,
Minister for Public Works, and which said map and
plan is deposited in the office of the Registrar of
the Supreme Court at Wellington, in the Provincial
District of Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point situate in Section No. 301,
in the Wairoa Survey District, said point being the
ERRATUM.—In Gazette No. 109, of 23rd instant, page 1503, “Appointment of Volunteer Officer, A Battery of Artillery,”
for “Lieutenant George Henry,” read “Lieutenant Henry George Payne” to be Captain.
termination of a portion of the line of railway from
Napier to a junction with the railway from New
Plymouth to Waitara at Sentry Hill, as described
in a Proclamation dated the 30th April, 1878, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 41,
of the 9th May, 1878, and proceeding thence
in a generally westerly direction for a distance
of 7 miles 30 chains or thereabouts, and pass-
ing in, into, through, or over the following lands :
Sections Nos. 301, 344, 300, 353, 311, 312, 313, 314,
315, 316, 317, 318, 329, 328, and terminating at
a point in Section No. 336, all within the Wairoa
Highway District, Provincial District of Wellington,
and including all adjoining lands, roads, reserves, streams,
rivers, and watercourses, in the manner delineated on
the plan marked P.W.D. 7313, signed by the Honor-
able Richard Oliver, Minister for Public Works,
deposited in the office of the Registrar of the
Supreme Court at Wellington, in the Provincial
District of Wellington.

Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same ; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-third day of October, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine.
