Kowai Recreation-ground brought under "The
Public Domains Act, 1860."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of January, 1879.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the eleventh section of "The Public
Reserves Act, 1877," I, George Augustus Constan-
tine, Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, do
hereby order and declare that the reserve made for
public recreation in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, and known as the "Kowai Recreation-ground,"
and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and
the same is hereby brought under the operation of
and declared to subject to the provisions of "The
Public Domains Act, 1860," and its amending Acts;
and such domain shall hereafter be managed, admin-
istered, and dealt with in manner directed by the
said Acts.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury, being Reserve No. 2066 (in red), two hun-
dred and thirteen (213) acres, more or less, situate in
the Ashley District (Kowai Road District). Bounded
on the South-west by Section 19023; on the South-
east by the road forming south-east boundary of that
Section; on the North-east by Reserve No. 1675
(in red); on the North by the road forming the
north boundary of Section No. 20597; and on the
north-west by I.P.Rs. G and H, on run formerly
No. 8., Class III., now No. 299, Class II.

Powers delegated to the Kowai Domain Board under
"The Public Domains Act, 1860."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of January, 1879.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the eleventh section of "The
Public Domains Act, 1860," it is enacted that
the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time
to time delegate all or any of the powers by the said
Act conferred upon any person for any period, and
subject to such stipulations as may be specified in
such order, and that every such delegation may from
time to time in like manner be altered or revoked:
And whereas it is enacted by "The Public Domains
Act, 1865," that the word "person" in the herein-
before recited section of "The Public Domains Act,
1860," shall be deemed to include more persons than
one: And whereas, pursuant to "The Public Re-
serves Act, 1877," by an Order in Council of even
date herewith, the land described in the Schedule
thereto is declared to be brought under and to be
subject to the said "Public Domains Act, 1860:"

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth, by this
present order, delegate all the powers conferred by
the Act first above mentioned, except the powers
under or conferred by subsections five and ten o
