Notification of the Payment of Money on, and Entry
into Negotiations for, the Purchase or Acquisition of
Native Lands in the North Island.

NORMANBY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the provisions of "The Govern-
ment Native Land Purchases Act, 1877," it is
hereby notified that money has been paid by or on
behalf of Her Majesty the Queen for the purchase or
acquisition of the several blocks of Native land in
the North Island which are more particularly de-
scribed and mentioned in the Schedule hereto; and,
further, that negotiations in respect of such purchases
or acquisitions as aforesaid have been entered into
by or on behalf of Her said Majesty.

SCHEDULE.

PATUTUMUTUMU.

ALL that parcel of land in the Bay of Islands District,
in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing
by admeasurement 1,409 acres or thereabouts, known
by the name of Patutumutumu. Bounded towards the
North-east by lines 5582, 193, 643, 1185, 664, 1079,
402, 406, 915, 564, 1086, 1900, and 344 links;
towards the South-east by lines 5240 and 4155 links;
towards the South-west by the Punakitere Creek;
and towards the West and North-west by the Tuku-
whenua and Ngapipito Blocks 183, 488, 335, 940, 353,
596, 257, 319, 906, 477, 347, 410, 296, 1000, 747, 899,
471, 3224, 370, 515, 1040, 260, 120, and 318 links,
and by a stream: as delineated on a plan deposited in
the Survey Office, Auckland. This block has not
passed the Native Land Court.

MOKAU No. 1.

All that parcel of land in the Bay of Islands Dis-
trict, in the Provincial District of Ackland, containing
by admeasurement 481 acres or thereabouts, known
by the name of Mokau No. 1. Bounded towards the
West and North by lines 272, 789, 1282, 1755, 1518,
400, 1295, 1249, 426, 896, 648, 956, 1570, 1248, 731,
134, and 182 links; towards the East by the Inumia
and Ketetawa Streams; and towards the South by the
Manginangina Block, 7000 links: as delineated on a
plan deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland. This
block has passed the Native Land Court.

MOKAU No. 2.

All that parcel of land in the Bay of Islands Dis-
trict, in the Provincial District of Auckland, contain-
ing by admeasurement 451 acres or thereabouts, known
by the name of Mokau No. 2. Bounded towards the
North by lines, 8851 links; towards the East by lines,
10404 links; towards the South by the Manginangina
Block, 4203 links; and towards the West by lines,
13080 links: as delineated on a plan deposited in the
Survey Office, Auckland. This block has not passed
the Native Land Court.

KATOTO AND TE WHAU.

All that parcel of land in the Bay of Islands Dis-
trict, in the Provincial District of Auckland, contain-
ing by admeasurement 8,746 acres or thereabouts,
known by the name of Katoto and Te Whau.
Bounded towards the North-east by Sections num-
bered 6, 5, 4, and 1, granted to J. Davis, J.
King, W. S. King, and E. M. King, respectively,
6800 and 36050 links; towards the South-east by the
Kiripaka Block, 560, 472, 636, 892, 390, 822, 691,
1485, 622, 581, 997, 1189, 804, 850, 368, 732, 721,
760, 942, 1113, 496, 1020, 259, 1515, 234, 377, 828,
and 260 links; towards the South-west by the Kai-
piro River, the Pungaere Block 580, 227, 5903, and
370 links, by a stream, the Pungaere Block afore-
said 350, 1077, and 862 links, and by a road line 700,
1920, 605, 1050, 860, 737, 1051, 1055, and 938 links;
and towards the North-west by Sections numbered 8
and 7, granted to Sarah King and H. King respec-
tively, 7450 and 12500 links: as delineated on a plan
deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland. This
block has not passed the Native Land Court.
