A plan of the proposed works to be executed,
together with the names of the owners and occupiers
of such lands, is now open for public inspection at
the Council Chambers, Jackson Street.
Objections to the execution of the works, or the
taking of lands for the same, must be made in
writing, and lodged with the Town Clerk, East
Invercargill, on or before the 23rd day of October,
1878.

NOTICE.

THE Partnership for some time heretofore existing
between us, the undersigned, as Sheepfarmers,

THIS is to give notice that, in accordance with
section 5 of "The District Railways Act, 1877,"
the under-mentioned places have been appointed for
the deposit of plans and books of reference:—

The Police Station, Gore;
Hanson's Hotel, Lumsden; and
The Council Chambers, Invercargill.

HEREBY give notice that, under a writ of fieri
facias
, duly issued out of the Supreme Court, at
the suit of WILLIAM WADDELL, ARCHIBALD MCLEOD,
and WILLIAM WEIR, of the City of Wellington,
Timber Merchants, I have taken in execution the
equity of redemption of JOHN BREEN, in all that piece
or parcel of land being part of Section 71, on the
plan of the City of Wellington, having a frontage on
the East to Hopper Street of thirty-three feet by a
depth of seventy feet, the southern boundary being
distant seventy-six feet from the northern boundary
of Section 70. And that I intend to cause the same
to be sold by public auction, at the rooms of Messrs.
Laery and Campbell, in the City of Wellington, on
the sixth day of January, 1879, at two o'clock in the
afternoon.

The Solicitor for the Execution Creditor is Mr.
F. M. Ollivier, of Lambton Quay, Wellington.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.

To the Mining Registrar at Cromwell of the Dun-
stan Mining District, and all other persons whom
it may concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Water-race and divert water from No. 1 Creek,
Roaring Meg, taking in its course No. 2 Creek, about
a mile from Roaring Meg Bridge, and terminating at
Kawarau River, below the Roaring Meg Hotel, under
the provisions of and for all the purposes comprised
and described in section 31 of "The Mines Act,
1877."

The time required for the construction of said race
is one month, and a license is asked for 15 years.
The mean depth of such race is 2 feet, and the
mean width is 2 feet, and it is proposed to divert
four Government-heads of water.

Dated at Cromwell, this 13th day of September,

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT RESER-
VOIR AND WATER-RACE.

To the Mining Registrar at Clyde of the Otago
Gold-Mining District, and all other persons whom
it may concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Reservoir for storing water, and a Water-race
from said reservoir, to divert water therefrom.
The situation of said reservoir is on Crown lands
on Run No. 369, about 300 yards to the West of
Section , Block I., Cairn Hill District.

The length of the dam will be about 50 yards,
its height 20 feet, and breadth at least 40 feet,
and will have a by-wash; and the reservoir will
be 2 acres.

The water-race will commence at the dam bank,
and will be carried through Crown lands, and will
terminate on Section , Block I., Cairn Hill Dis-
trict.

The length of the race will be about a quarter of a
mile, and will be of a depth of 18 inches by a breadth
of 2 feet; and it is purposed to divert and carry one
645 head of water therein.
