2. Any holder of a license, as hereinafter men-
tioned, may fish with rod and line for trout in the
River Maitai, from the first day of October next,
until the thirty-first day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-nine.
3. The Regulations Nos. three, four, five, six, seven,
and eight of the regulations of the twenty-eighth day of
September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
fourth day of October, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven, page nine hundred and ninety-
six, shall, so far as applicable, be incorporated with
and form part of these regulations.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twenty-sixth day of Sep-
tember, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight.

Conditions for Trout Fishing in Otago.
NORMANBY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in him by "The Salmon and Trout Act, 1867,"
His Excellency the Governor doth hereby make the
following regulations for the Provincial District of
Otago:—

  1. Any holder of a license may fish with rod and line
    for brown trout in all the streams and lakes within
    and forming the boundaries of the following district
    (except the Water of Leith), from the first day of
    October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
    eight, to the thirty-first day of March, one thousand
    eight hundred and seventy-nine, both inclusive, viz.:—
    All that area in the Provincial District of Otago
    bounded on the East and South by the ocean, from
    Shag Point to the Mouth of the Mataura River; on
    the West, South-west, and South by the Mataura River
    and the Counties of Southland and Wallace; on the
    North-west by the ocean; and on the North, North-
    west, and North-east by the Counties of Westland
    and Waitaki.
  2. Any holder of a license may fish with rod and
    line for brown trout in the Water of Leith, in the
    months of November, December, and January next
    ensuing.
  3. Licenses to fish with rod and line in the Pro-
    vincial District of Otago will be issued under the
    hand of the Secretary of any Acclimatization Society
    in the said provincial district; and for every license
    a fee of twenty shillings will be charged.
  4. The Regulations Nos. four, five, six, seven, and
    eight of the regulations of the twenty-ninth day of
    September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
    seven, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
    fourth day of October, one thousand eight hundred
    and seventy-seven, page nine hundred and ninety-
    seven, shall, so far as applicable, be incorporated with
    and form part of these regulations.
  5. These regulations shall come into force on the
    first day of October, one thousand eight hundred and
    seventy-eight.

tember, one thousand eight hundred and

apart Education Reserves, and for the control and
management thereof;"
No. 23. "An Act to amend 'The Public Health Act,
1876;"'
No. 24. "An Act to amend 'The Gold Mining Districts
Act, 1873;"'
No. 25. "An Act to enable the Governor to sell and
exchange certain Allotments of Land, and to
apply the Proceeds of such Sales in Public Im-
provements;"

Boards of the several Land Districts of the
Colony;"
No. 27. "An Act to amend 'The Financial Arrangements
