direction to Te One Tapu, thence to Ruapehu,
thence in a southerly direction to Ngapokoteranga,
thence to Taitaikuao, thence in a similar direction to
Marino, thence in a south-easterly direction to
Pakihi, thence to Panemango, the starting point: as
delineated on a plan deposited in the Native Office,
Wellington. The portion of this block known as Te
Ruanui has passed the Native Land Court.

TE NGAIRE, TE RAHUI, AND MANGAMINGI.
All those parts of Blocks Nos. III., IV., VI.,
VII., VIII., X., XI., XII., XV., and XVI., Ngaire
Survey District, and IX., Omoua Survey District, in
the Provincial District of Taranaki, known by the
names of Te Ngaire, Te Rahui, and Mangamingi, con-
taining byadmeasurement 23,300 acres or thereabouts.
Bounded towards the North-east by the Patea River
from the confiscated line to Omoua; towards the
South-east by a series of survey lines as follows:
40° 37', 8,550 links; 10° 17', 4,097 links; 45° 17',
27,299 links; 27° 7', 2,499 links; 85° 52', 1,421 links;
52° 57', 1590 links; and towards the South-west by
confiscated boundary line about 442 chains; and
towards the North-west by confiscated line about
526 chains to Patea River: as delineated on a plan
deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, New
Plymouth. These blocks have not passed the Native
Land Court.

Resident Magistrates appointed to administer "The
Slaughterhouse Act, 1877."

NORMANBY, Governor.

WHEREAS by "The Slaughterhouse Act, 1877,"
it is enacted that in all parts of New Zealand
in which the whole of the Counties Act is not in
operation a Resident Magistrate to be appointed in
that behalf by the Governor, acting together with
any two Justices of the Peace, shall form a Bench of
Magistrates, who shall be charged with the adminis-
tration of all the provisions of the said Act within
such parts of New Zealand respectively as may be
limited to such Magistrates by the Governor: And
whereas the whole of "The Counties Act, 1876," is
not in force in the several counties specified in the
second column of the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in me by "The
Slaughterhouse Act, 1877," do hereby appoint the
several Resident Magistrates whose names are
specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto
to be the respective Resident Magistrates who, acting
together with any two Justices of the Peace, shall be
charged with the administration of the said Act
within the several counties set opposite their re-
spective names in the second column of the said
Schedule.

Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871," and "The Abolition
of Provinces Act, 1875," I, George Augustus
Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the
place specified in the Schedule hereto to be the
polling-place for the Otaraia Road District. And I
do hereby appoint

JOHN HUNTER

to be the person by and before whom the first
elections of members of the Board of the said district
shall be held.

SCHEDULE.
THE Schoolhouse situated on Block IX., Waikaka,
at Otaraia.

Governor, this eighteenth day of January,
