Lands taken for the purpose of a portion of the
Railway from Napier to the Junction with the
Railway from New Plymouth to Waitara at Sentry
Hill (Aramoho Junction to the Town of Wanganui).

A MEMORIAL

Laid before His Excellency the Governor by the
Minister acting for the Minister for Public Works,
pursuant to the provisions of "The Public Works
Act, 1876," containing an accurate description of
the lands proposed to be taken for a certain public
work-to wit, the construction of a portion of the
railway from Napier to the junction with the railway
from New Plymouth to Waitara at Sentry Hill
(Aramoho Junction to the Town of Wanganui).

WANGANUI SUBURBAN.

THROUGH Section 20, containing 2 acres 2 roods 07.6
perches, more or less. Commencing at a point on the
south side of Russell Vale Road, 825.8 links north-
westerly from the north-east corner of Section 20 on
River Bank Road; thence following a line 2967.3
links in a southerly direction to the south-west
boundary of said Section 20; thence following the
said boundary north-westerly 100.3 links; thence in
a north-easterly direction 2972.9 links to Russell
Vale Road; and thence following the said road in a
south-easterly direction to starting point for a dis-
tance of 100.8 links.

Through Section 19, containing 21.7 perches, more
or less. Commencing at the north-east corner of
Section 19; thence following along the western
boundary of Road Reserve and Wanganui Town Belt
for a distance of 453 links in a south-westerly direc-
tion; thence in a north-easterly direction for 453.5
links, and thence along the north-eastern boundary
of said Section 19 in a south-easterly direction to
starting point, for a distance of 61 links.

Through portion of Road Reserve and part of
London Street, containing 8 acres 2 roods 20.7
perches, more or less. Commencing on the north-
east corner of Section 19, and following in a south-
easterly direction for a distance of 39.3 links; thence
in a south-westerly direction along London Street
and Road Reserve 8983.3 links; thence north-
westerly 100 links; thence north-easterly 8537.8
links to south-eastern boundary of Section 19; thence
following the said boundary for 453 links to starting
point.

WANGANUI INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL ESTATE.

Through the Wanganui Industrial School Estate,
containing 5 acres 3 roods and 32.2 perches, more or
less. Commencing at a point on the south side of
London Street, 88 links south-west from the corner
of Victoria Avenue and London Street; thence
following curvelinear and straight lines in a southerly
direction to Ingestre Street, on the following
measurements: 815, 508, 1097, 412.5, 292, 440, 670,
408.5, 700, 512.9, and 148.5 links respectively;
thence following along the north-western boundary
of Ingestre Street, south-westerly 100 links; thence
in a northerly direction by curvelinear and straight
lines to London Street, on the following measure-
ments: 148.5, 566.8, 754, 355, 168, 456, 95, 345, 316,
390, 1097, 532, and 660 links respectively; and
thence following London Street for a distance of
268 links to the starting point.

TOWN OF WANGANUI.

Sections 259, 262, 263, 266, 267, 270, 271, 274,
275, 278, 277, 276, 273, containing 3 acres 1 rood,
more or less. Bounded towards the North-west by
Guyton Street, 500 links; towards the North-east
by Wilson Street, 300 links, and Sections 260, 261,
264, 265, 268, 269, 272, 700 links; towards the
South-east by Section 272, 250 links, and Maria
Place, 250 links; and towards the South-west by
Churton Street, 1000 links.

Portions of Sections 240, 241, and Sections 244,
245, 248, 249, 252, 253, 256, 257, containing 2 acres
26.6 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the
North-west by Maria Place, 250 links; towards the
North-east by Sections 243, 246, 247, 250, 251, 254,
255, 258, 800 links, and other portions of Sections
241, 240, 200 links; towards the South-east by other
portions of Section 241, 166.6 links, and by Ridge-
way Street, 83.3 links; and towards the South-west
by Churton Street, 1000 links.

Portions of Sections 8 and 9, containing 32 perches,
more or less. Bounded towards the North-west by
Ridgway Street, 100 links; towards the North-east
by other portions of Sections 8 and 9, 200 links;
towards the South-east by Section 7, 100 links; and
towards the South-west by Churton Street, 200 links.

Section 2, containing 1 rood, more or less.
Bounded towards the North-west by Crown land,
125 links; towards the North-east by Churton
Street, 200 links; towards the South-east by Taupo
Quay, 125 links; and towards the South-west by
Section 1, 200 links.

The above particulars being delineated upon the
plan marked P.W.D. 6111, hereto attached.

I, the undersigned, George Stoddart Whitmore,
the Minister acting for the Minister for Public
Works, hereby certify that the above-written memo-
rial is true and correct in the several particulars
thereof.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Public Works Act, 1876," it
is enacted that whenever lands are required
to be taken for public works the Minister for Public
Works shall cause a survey to be made and plans to
be prepared showing generally the nature of the
works proposed to be executed and the lands required
to be taken for the same, together with the names of.
the owners and occupiers of such lands so far as they
can be ascertained, and shall cause a copy of such
plans to be deposited in some place in the road
district in which such lands are: And it is further
enacted that the said Minister shall cause a notice to
be gazetted, and to be twice publicly notified, stating
the place where such plans are open for inspection,
with a general description of the works proposed
