Control of Commonage by Hampden Road Board
approved.

IN pursuance of the sixth section of "The Public
Reserves Act, 1877," His Excellency the Go-
vernor has been pleased to approve of the Hampden
Road Board having the control and management of
Section 7, Block XIII., Moeraki District, which was
granted to the Superintendent of Otago on the 28th
day of September, 1875, as a commonage for the use
of the inhabitants of Hampden Town.

£10,000 Bonus.

Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 22nd April, 1878.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in terms of a reso-
lution of the House of Representatives, the
Government of New Zealand will pay, by way of
bonus, the sum of five thousand pounds (£5,000) to
any individual or company who shall first produce
not less than five hundred (500) tons of marketable
sugar from beet grown and manufactured in the
North Island. Also that a like sum of five thousand
pounds (£5,000) will be paid to any individual or
company who shall first produce not less than five
hundred (500) tons of marketable sugar from beet
grown and manufactured in the Middle Island.

Such bonus to be paid upon its being duly certified
by the Commissioner of Crown Lands of the district
within which the sugar shall have been produced,
and by the Chairman of the nearest Chamber of
Commerce, that the minimum quantity hereinbefore
mentioned has been so produced, and is of market-
able quality: Provided further that such certificates
shall have been presented at the Colonial Treasury
within three years of the date above written.

ine Candle and Soap Manufactures, of Melbourne,
in the Colony of Victoria, and Wellington, New Zea-
land, to register, under "The Trade Marks Act,
1866," the Trade Marks of which the following are
descriptions, viz. :-

No. 2. A brand representing an anchor.
No. 3. A brand representing a diamond, having in
its centre the letter " W."

NOTICE is hereby given that application has been
made by WILLIAM HEPBURN and JOHN DAVIE,
of Dunedin, in the Provincial District of Otago, in
the Colony of New Zealand, Woollen Manufacturers,
trading under the style of "The Kaikorai Woollen
Company," to register, under "The Trade Marks
Act, 1866," the Trade Mark of which the following
is a description :-

Description of Trade Mark.
The representation of a band or girdle, with its
ends fastened together on the lower side by a buckle
so as to enclose an oval-shaped space; on the face
of the band or girdle are printed, in capitals, the
words "Kaikorai Woollen Company;" in the enclosed
space are printed, horizontally, in capitals, the words
"Kaikorai Mill."

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such
Trade Mark shall apply.
Blankets, blanketing, flannel, tweeds, plaids, shawls,
and yarns, and all other woollen stuffs and manu-
factures of the like nature.
