payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day on
which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Southland did, on
the twenty-second day of August, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-eight, pass a resolution
recommending that the land described in the Schedule
hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on de-
ferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested in me by the above-
named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for
sale on deferred payments; and that Wednesday, the
twenty-third day of October, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-eight, shall be the day on which the
said land shall be open for application.

Lands set apart as Endowments for Primary
Education.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Education Reserves Act,
1877," it is, amongst other things, enacted
that, in order to provide an endowment for primary
education in the North Island, at least five per centum
of the waste lands in each district therein open for sale
on the first day of January, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-eight, and a like per centum out of
all land over which the Native title may thereafter
be extinguished in each such district, and which should
from time to time be acquired or purchased by or on
behalf of the Crown, should be reserved and set apart
as an endowment for the maintenance of primary
education within the education district in which the
land is situated:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and au-
thorities vested in me by the said recited Act, and of
every other power and authority me thereunto en-
abling, do hereby reserve and set apart the several
blocks or parcels of land described in the Schedule
hereto as endowments for the maintenance of primary
education within the education districts of the
North Island in which such blocks or parcels of
land are respectively situated.

SCHEDULE.

EDUCATION DISTRICT OF AUCKLAND.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Auckland, containing by admeasurement sixty-four
(64) acres, more or less, being Section numbered ten
(10) of Block three (III.), Herekino Survey District.
Bounded towards the North by a road one hundred
(100) links wide, one thousand four hundred and
sixty-three (1463) links; towards the East by a line,
four thousand seven hundred and eighty-one (4781)
links; towards the South by lines, fifteen thousand
five hundred and sixty-six (15566) links; and towards
the West by Section 9, four thousand four hundred
and sixty (4460) links.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Auckland, containing by admeasurement eighty-
five (85) acres two (2) roods and thirty-six (36)
perches, more or less, being Section numbered eleven
(11) of Block nine (IX.), Whangape Survey
District. Bounded towards the North by a road one
hundred (100) links wide, two thousand five hundred
and sixty-three (2563) links; towards the East by
