Boundaries of Hokonui Rabbit District extended. | Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from

A PROCLAMATION.
W HEREAS by a Proclamation dated the twenty-
first day of July, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven, the Governor did, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by
"The Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1876," constitute and
declare the area described in the Schedule thereto a
district for the purposes of the said Act, under the
name of the "Hokonui District:"
And whereas by the said recited Act the Governor
is empowered from time to time to alter and redefine
the boundaries of any district by Proclamation: And
whereas it is expedient that the boundaries of the
said Hokonui District should be altered and rede-
fined:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said
recited Act, and all powers enabling me in this behalf,
do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after
the sixteenth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-eight, the boundaries of
the Hokonui District shall be those set out in the
Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF THE AMENDED BOUNDARIES OF
HOKONUI RABBIT DISTRICT.
ALL that area of country comprised within the follow-
ing boundary lines, namely: commencing at the
south-east angle of the Waimumu Survey District
where it touches the Mataura River; thence westerly
and northerly along the southern and western bound-
aries of said district to the Hokonui Survey District;
thence due West to the Oreti River; thence northerly
up said river, and along the Irthing Stream to the
main road, Invercargill to Kingston; thence along
said road to the source of the Paiherewao Creek;
thence down said creek to the Mataura River; and
thence down the Mataura River to the starting point.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Welling-
ton, this sixteenth day of September, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-eight.

Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Southland.

A PROCLAMATION.
W HEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:
And whereas the Land Board of Southland did, on
the fifteenth day of August, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-eight, pass a resolution recom-
mending that the land described in the Schedule
hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on
deferred payments:
And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested in me by the above-
named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart
for sale on deferred payments; and that Wednesday,
the twenty-third day of October, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-eight, shall be the day on which
the said land shall be open for application.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by estimation one hundred and sixty
(160) acres, more or less, being part of Run 195B,
Hokonui District. Bounded towards the North-
west by a public road; towards the North-east by
Section 198; again towards the North-west by
Section 198 aforesaid; again towards the North-
east by a public road; and towards the South by a
deferred-payment block.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl
of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
