Declaring “Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876,”
in force within the Ellesmere Road District.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue of the power vested in me by the third
section of “The Regulation of Local Elections
Act, 1876,” I, George Augustus Constantine, Mar-
quis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the said Act shall come into force, in respect of all
elective offices of the Ellesmere Road Board, within
the district known as the Ellesmere Road District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl
of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty’s Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George; Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and
its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of
the same; and issued under the Seal of
the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this fifteenth
day of August, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight.

Boundaries of the Districts of Oxford, Rangiora,
Cust, and Kaiapoi declared.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
me by “The Marriage Act Amendment Act,
1858,” I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of
Normanby, the Governor of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the
Oxford District, the Rangiora District, and the
Kaiapoi District, as at present constituted under the
said Act, shall be and the same are hereby altered;
and do proclaim and declare that the territory therein
comprised shall be divided anew into four districts,
the names and boundaries whereof shall be as
follow:—

OXFORD DISTRICT.

Bounded on the Eastward by the Rangiora and
Cust Districts; on the Southward by the southern
bank of the River Waimakariri; on the Westward
by the western bank of said river, by the northern
boundary of Run 270, the Puketerahi Range, and
the summit of the range leading to Ashley Head; and
on the Northward by the Waipara Road District.

CUST DISTRICT.

Bounded on the North by the River Ashley and
the northern boundary of Run 119; on the East by a
true north and south line drawn through Trig. Pole
C 30, on the south bank of the Waimakriri; on the
South by the south bank of the Waimakariri; and on
the West by the boundary lines between Runs 119
and 135, 100 Class 2 and 35, 203 Class 2, and 223
Class 2, a straight line drawn from the north-west
corner of Rural Section 13684 to the north-west
corner of Rural Section 9791, thence by a straight
line drawn to the River Ashley in direction of Trig.
Pole No. 16, situate on the north bank of that river.

RANGIORA DISTRICT.

Commencing at the intersection of the south bank
of the River Ashley, by the western side of the North
Road, following said road southerly to its junction
with the Rangiora Road; thence south-westerly in a
direct line to Trig. Station M 17, thence westerly in a
direct line through Trig. Station M 40 to a point due
north of Trig. Station C 30 on the south bank of the
River Waimakariri, thence following a true north
line to the south bank of the River Ashley, thence
westerly along the said river to a point immediately
opposite the junction of the north-east bank of the
River Garry with the north bank of the Ashley,
