Land temporarily reserved in the Provincial District
of Otago.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
a general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which in his opinion are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in
the Provincial District of Otago described in the
Schedule hereunder written for the respective pur-
poses in the said Schedule specified.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Otago being Sections numbered six (6) and nineteen
(19) of Block eighteen (XVIII.), of the Town of
Winton, containing by admeasurement two (2) roods,
more or less. Bounded towards the North by Grange
Street, one hundred (100) links; towards the East by
Sections Nos. 7 and 18 of said Block, five hundred
(500) links; towards the South by Home Street, one
hundred (100) links; and towards the West by
Sections Nos. 5 and 20 of said Block, five hundred
(500) links. For a street or public highway.
Also all that parcel of land being Sections numbered
six (6) and nineteen (19) of Block seventeen (XVII.)
of the Town of Winton, containing by admeasure-
ment two (2) roods, more or less. Bounded towards
the North by Home Street, one hundred (100) links;
towards the East by Sections Nos. 7 and 18 of said
Block, five hundred (500) links; towards the South
by Albert Street, one hundred (100) links; and to-
wards the West by Sections Nos. 5 and 20 of the
said Block, five hundred (500) links. For a street or
public highway.
Also all that parcel of land being Sections num-
bered six (6) and eighteen (18) of Block sixteen
(XVI.) of the Town of Winton, containing by ad-
measurement two (2) roods, more or less. Bounded
towards the North by Albert Street, one hundred
(100) links; towards the East by Sections Nos. 7 and
17 of said Block, five hundred (500) links; towards
the South by Prince Street, one hundred (100) links;
and towards the West by Sections Nos. 5 and 19 of
said block, five hundred (500) links. For a street or
public highway.
Also all that parcel of land being Sections num-
bered six (6) and twenty-three (23), of Block nine
(IX.), of the Town of Winton, containing by ad-
measurement two (2) roods, more or less. Bounded
towards the North by Essex Street, one hundred (100)
links; towards the East by Sections Nos. seven
(7) and twenty-two (22) of said block, five hundred
(500) links; towards the South by Eglinton Street,
one hundred (100) links; and towards the West by
Sections Nos. five (5) and twenty-four (24) of said
block, five hundred (500) links. For a street or
public highway.
Also all that parcel of land being Section numbered
six (6) of Block fourteen (XIV.), of the Town of
Winton, containing by admeasurement one (1) rood,
more or less. Bounded towards the North by Queen
Street, one hundred (100) links; towards the East
by Section No. seven (7) of the said Block, two
hundred and fifty (250) links; towards the South by
Section No. thirteen (13) of the said Block, one hun-
dred (100) links; and towards the West by Section
No. five (5) of said Block, two hundred and fifty
(250) links. For a street or public highway.
Also all that parcel of land being Sections num-
bered six (6) and twenty-two (22) of Block twelve
(XII.) of the Town of Winton, containing by
admeasurement two (2) roods, more or less. Bounded
towards the North by Arthur Street, one hundred
(100) links; towards the East by Sections Nos.
seven (7) and twenty-one (21) of said Block, five
hundred (500) links; towards the South by Mary
Street, one hundred (100) links; and towards the
West by Sections Nos. five (5) and twenty-three
(23) of said Block, five hundred (500) links. For a
street or public highway.
Also all that parcel of land being Sections num-
bered six (6) and twenty-seven (27) of Block eleven
(XI.) of the Town of Winton, containing by ad-
measurement two (2) roods, more or less. Bounded
towards the North by Mary Street, one hundred
(100) links; towards the East by Sections Nos. 7
and 26 of the said block, five hundred (500) links;
towards the South by John Street, one hundred (100)
links; and towards the West by Sections Nos. five
(5) and twenty-eight (28) of said block, five hundred
(500) links. For a street or pubhe highway.
Also all that parcel of land being sections num-
bered six (6) and twenty-four (24) of Block ten (X.)
of the Town of Winton, containing by admeasure-
ment two (2) roods, more or less. Bounded towards
the North by Johu Street, one hundred (100) links ;
towards the East by Sections Nos. 7 and 23 of said
block, five hundred (500) links; towards the South
by Essex Street, one hundred (100) links; and to-
wards the West by Sections Nos. five (5) and twenty-
five (25) of the said block, five hundred (500) links.

(IX.), of the Town of Winton, containing by ad-
measurement two (2) roods, more or less. Bounded
towards the North by Essex Street, one hundred (100)

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this sixteenth day of January,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight.

Rangers of Crown Lands appointed, Otago.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the seventeenth section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is provided that the
Governor may from time to time, as he shall think
fit, appoint one or more persons within each district
to be Rangers of Crown Lands, whose duties shall be
to observe and take care that the provisions of the
said Act are complied with within the district for
which they shall be appointed, and to lay informations
against such persons as may offend against the same,
and otherwise to discharge such duties as the Com-
missioner of Crown Lands shall appoint :
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and
authority in me vested by the said Act, do hereby
appoint the persons in the Schedule hereto mentioned
to be Rangers of Crown Lands for the Otago Land
District.
