Establishment of Local Districts and Land Officers,
Provincial District of Otago.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the twenty-fourth section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted, that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time establish and define, abolish, alter, or
reconstitute local districts for the sale or disposal of
land, and in like manner from time to time may
appoint Land Officers or other persons for conduct-
ing sales of land in such local districts, and for
receiving applications for the sale, letting, disposal,
or occupation of Crown lands, and for generally
carrying into effect the provisions of the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the several districts enumerated and described in the
First Schedule hereto are established, defined, and
constituted local districts for the sale and disposal of
land under the said Act; and that the several Land
Offices the names of which are in the said Schedule
set opposite the names of the said local districts are
appointed the Land Offices for the said local dis-
tricts respectively; and that the persons named in
the Second Schedule hereto are appointed Land
Officers for conducting sales of land in such local
districts, and for receiving applications for the sale,
letting, disposal, or occupation of Crown land, and
for generally carrying into effect the provisions of
the said Act in and for the several districts the
names of which are in the said Second Schedule set
opposite the names of such persons respectively.

Whitecoomb in an easterly direction along
the southern boundary of the Clyde Land
District to the Lammerlaw; thence south-
easterly along the ranges and Lee Stream to
a point north of Maungatua Hill; thence
southerly to Maungatua Hill; thence south-
westerly along the boundary of the hundreds
to the east branch of the Tokomairiro River;
thence by the said river until it intersects a
direct line from Trigonometrical Station F to
Trigonometrical Station E, Table Hill Survey
District; thence to Trigonometrical Station
E aforesaid, thence to Trigonometrical
Station D, thence to Trigonometrical Station
C, thence to Trigonometrical Station K, all
in the Table Hill District aforesaid; thence
to Trigonometrical Station L, thence to
Trigonometrical Station W, both in the Toko-
mairiro Survey District; thence to Trigono-
metrical Station V, Hillend District; thence
in a direct line towards Trigonometrical Sta-
tion Z, in the same district, to the boundary
of the hundreds; thence in a south-westerly
direction to the south-eastern corner of the
Waitahuna Hundred; thence north-westerly
along the boundary of the said hundred to
Scrub Burn; thence south-westerly across the
Clutha River, and by a direct line to the
Pomahaka River, and along the said river
to the junction of the Waipahee; thence
northerly to the junction of the Waikoikoi
Stream; thence north-westerly along the
Waikoikoi Stream to its source; and thence
in a northerly direction along the western
watershed of the Pomohaka River, over the
Wendon Hill and the Black Umbrella Moun-
tain, to Whitecoomb, the starting point. |

tains to a point due west of Domet Mountain;
thence easterly to Domet Mountain; thence
north-westerly to Kurow Mountain; thence
north-easterly to and along Little Awahemo
Creek to the Waitaki River; thence south-
easterly along the Waitaki River to the Maru-
whenua Hundred; thence southerly along the
western boundary of the said hundred to the
south-western corner thereof; thence westerly
to the south branch of the Maruwhenua River;
thence southerly to the northern branch of
the Kakanui River; thence south-westerly to
the Kakanui Mountains; thence south-
easterly along the Kakanui Mountains to the
Moeraki Hundred; thence in a south-westerly
direction along the boundary of the said
hundred and the boundary of Hawksbury

Section No. 11, Block I., Dunback Survey
District; thence along the southern boun-
daries of the said Section No. 11 and Section
No. 6 of the same Block to Moeraki Survey
District; thence along the said survey dis-
trict to Section No. 3, Block I., Dunback
Survey District aforesaid; thence along the
northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 3, 4,
and 5, and the north-western boundaries of
Sections Nos. 5 and 8 of the same block and
district to the northern branch of the Wai-
kouaiti River; thence north-westerly along
the boundaries of Runs numbered respectively
80 and 109 to the ranges; thence south-
easterly to the Silver Peak Hills, and along
Silver Peak Hills to the north-eastern corner
of Hindon Land District; thence westerly

Otago bounded by a line proceeding from
Fox Peak in a north-easterly direction to the
boundary of the provincial district; thence
easterly along the said boundary to a point
due north of Longslip Mountain; thence
southerly over Longslip Mountain and along
the eastern watershed of Lindesburn to
Mount St. Bathans; thence along the Dun-
stan Mountains and Lauder Creek to the
Manuherikia River; thence north-easterly
along the Manuherikia River to the junction
of Poolburn; thence south-easterly along
Poolburn and the north-eastern boundary of
Run 261 to Roughridge; thence southerly
over North Roughridge Hill to South Rough-
ridge Hill; thence along the ranges to Lam-
merlaw; thence westerly by the ranges and
across the Clutha River to Mount Benger;
thence to Whitecoomb; thence north-westerly
over the Titan Rocks to Garvie Mountains;
thence in a northerly direction along the
eastern boundary of Queenstown Land Dis-
