thence along the eastern side of the said public road
by a line bearing 177° 22', 508 links, and by a further
line also along the eastern side of the said public
road bearing 189° 20', 380 links, and then by a line
diagonally across the said public road, and beyond
the same, bearing 214° 9', 148 links and 563 links,
and then by a line bearing 256°, 50 links, and
then by a line bearing 168°, 5100 links, to the
commencing point.
And notice is hereby further given that the works
proposed to be executed upon the said land consist
of major and minor carrier channels for the distri-
bution of the sewage of the said city upon the said
land.
And notice is hereby further given that all persons
who may be affected by the execution of the pro-
posed works are required to set forth in writing any
well-grounded objection to the same, or to the taking
of the land required for the same, as set forth in the
said plans, and to send such writing to the Town
Clerk of the said city within forty days from the
first publication of this notice.

I HEREBY give notice that, in pursuance of the
powers granted by "The Public Works Act,
1876," the Southland County Council did, on the 11th
July instant, declare the following Road to be a County
Road within the meaning of the said Act, viz.: Road
from Pukerau to Oteraia.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO REGISTER WATER-
RACE.
Otago Gold Fields, Arrow,
19th July, 1878.
To the Mining Registrar, also to the Warden at
District, and all other persons whom it may concern.
WE hereby give notice that we intend to bring
under section 31 of "The Mines Act, 1877," our
Water-race, with its tributaries and extensions, as
hereunder specified: Commencing at a point at the
north branch of the Swift Burn Creek, near the foot
of the Range Crown Terrace, and taking in the
Royal Burn and the Try Burn, and terminating at
Arrow River, near Arrowtown. Right-hand extension
terminating in the New Chum Gully, near Mount
Beetham. Left-hand extension: No. 1 terminating at |
the Royal Burn; No. 2 also in the Royal Burn; No. 3
at White Chapel Flat; No. 4 at Walter's Gully,
Crown Terrace.
The length of such race and extensions is twelve
miles or thereabouts, and course of main race is
north-west. Right-hand extension, north; left-hand
extensions, south-west.
The mean depth of such race is 1 foot 6 inches,
and the mean breadth is 2 feet 6 inches; and it at
present diverts four Government heads of water.

hitherto subsisting between the undersigned
WILLIAM ANTHONY BENN, WILLIAM PARKERSON,
and ALBERT MOUNT NEWMAN, as Merchant at Am-
berley, under the firm of "Benn and Parkerson,"
has this day been dissolved by mutual consent so far
as relates to the said William Parkerson. The
business at Amberley will henceforth be carried on
by Messrs. Benn and Newman.

situated at Coles Creek, Collingwood, Nelson, do
hereby give notice that the Registered Office of the
Company has been removed from Panama Street,
Wellington, to Customhouse Quay, Wellington; and
that RICHARD SEPTIMUS LEDGER has been appointed
Manager of the Company, in the place of John
Fortescue Evelyn Wright, resigned.
