Methods of destroying Rabbits.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, 19th July, 1878.

THE following notes, relative to methods of destroying and catching rabbits and vermin, are published for general information.

7, Westminster Chambers, London, S.W.,
22nd February, 1878.

SIR,—I have the honor to transmit certain notes furnished by Mr. J. T. Thomson, Surveyor-General of New Zealand, and now on a visit to England, on the method of destroying and catching rabbits and vermin.
I think you will find them very interesting, and I have pleasure in being the medium of their transmission.

I have, &c.,
JULIUS VOGEL,
Agent-General.

The Hon. the Colonial Secretary,
Wellington.

Bamborough, Northumberland,
21st February, 1878.

SIR,—I have the honor to forward to you some notes that I have made regarding the mode of destroying vermin in this district, and, considering the trouble that rabbits are now giving in our colony, the subject may be deemed of sufficient importance to be transmitted to Wellington.
No doubt in the colony the large runholders will have made themselves acquainted with several modes, and these may be known to them; but I think they are not so to the general public interested.
