Declaring "Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876," Consent to Town Land in Auckland being classed as
in force within the Rangitikei Highway District. Rural Land.

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue of the power vested in me by the third
section of "The Regulation of Local Elections
Act, 1876," I, George Augustus Constantine, Mar-
quis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the said Act shall come into force, in respect of all
elective offices of the Rangitikei Highway Board,
within the district known as the Rangitikei High-
way District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at
the Government House, at Wellington, and
this twenty-eighth day of July, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-eight.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-third day of July, 1878.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the thirty-ninth section of the
"Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that it shall
be lawful for the Land Board, subject to the approval
of the Governor, at any time and from time to time,
to declare by notice in the Gazette that any land not
already classified shall belong to either of the classes
referred to in the thirty-eighth section of the said
Act; and also that any land shall cease to belong to
either of the said classes: Provided that no land
which has been declared to be town or suburban
land shall cease to belong to such classes respec-
tively, without the consent previously obtained of the
Governor in Council:
And whereas the Land Board of Auckland is
desirous of declaring that the land specified in the
Schedule hereto, which has been heretofore classed
as town land, shall cease to belong to such class, and
shall be classed as rural land:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the colony, and in exercise
of the powers and authorities vested
in him by the said Act, doth hereby consent to the
Land Board aforesaid declaring that the land speci-
fied in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be classed
as town land, and doth hereby approve and consent
to the said Board declaring that such land shall be
classed as rural land.
