IN pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested in this behalf by the one hundred and
sixty-seventh section of "The Land Act, 1877," I,
George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby withdraw from sale the land described in the
Schedule hereunder written.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement one thousand
two hundred (1,200) acres, more or less, being Section
numbered two thousand three hundred and thirty
(2330) (in red). Bounded towards the North-west
by I.P.R.s A, B, C, D, and E, and F, on Run No. 1;
towards the North-east by road running through
I.P.R. F above mentioned; towards the South-east
by a line parallel to the north-west boundary and
about 80 chains distant therefrom; towards the
South-west by the road north of Sections 20573,
26383, 26384, and 26385. Save and excepting a
portion of Sections 28037 and 4806, situate in the
above-described section. As the same is delineated
on the plan deposited in the Provincial District
Survey Office, Christchurch.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement seven thousand
eight hundred (7,800) acres, more or less, being
Section numbered two thousand three hundred and
thirty-one (2331) (in red). Bounded towards the
South-east by the division line between Runs Nos.
1 and 6, and by I.P.R. F, on Run No. 1, and I.P.R.s
K, L, M, N, O, and P, on Run No. 6; towards the
Northward by Sections 24210, 25059, 25058, by the
road north-west of latter section, also by the road
south of Section 26579, and by Sections 23608, 26356,
26397, 26249, and the road north-west of latter
section, also by Sections 26247, 26223, 26248, 28143,
and by I.P.R. V, on Run No. 6, by Section 18215,
and by the road north-west thereof, also by the road
east of Sections 26394, by Section 27331, and the
road north-west thereof; towards the South-west by
the road north-east of Section 19705, by the north
bank of the River Waimakariri, and by Sections
29927, 29928, 25960, and I.P.R. F, on Run No. 6.
Save and excepting Sections 1875, 1876, 1879, 1881
(in red), part of Sections 1080, 1081 (in red), and
Section 29569, situate in the above-described section.
As the same is delineated on the plan deposited in
the Provincial District Survey Office, Christchurch.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement one thousand
(1,000) acres, more or less, being Section numbered
two thousand three hundred and thirty-two (2332)
(in red). Bounded towards the South-east by I.P.R.
Q, on Run No. 6, also by the road north of Section
19705; on the North-east by the road south-west of
Section 27814, also by the road west of that section,
by Section 20738, and the road north thereof;
towards the North-west by I.P.R.s C and B, on Run
No. 6, and Section 28992; towards the South-west
by Section 20719, and Section 462 (in red). Save
and excepting Section 1877 (in red), and portion of
I.P.R.s Q and R, on the above-mentioned run,
situate in the above-described section. As the same
is delineated on the plan deposited in the Provincial
Survey Office, Christchurch.

Governor, this tenth day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight.

Warrant abolishing Polling-place and principal
Polling-place.

NORMANBY, Governor.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING:

WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections Act,
1870," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor, by warrant under his hand, from time
to time to appoint polling-places for each electoral
district within or within one mile of the limits thereof,
and to appoint any one of such polling-places to be
the principal polling-place for the district, and all or
any of such polling-places from time to time to abolish,
and, if he think fit, to appoint other polling-places in
lieu of those abolished, and that every such warrant
shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette:
Provided always that no polling-place shall be ap-
pointed by the Governor under the said Act, unless
he shall be first satisfied that the place to be ap-
pointed is more convenient than any other for at
least twenty electors to record their votes thereat:

And whereas by warrant under the hand of the
Governor, bearing date the sixth day of December,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five,
the Provincial Government Buildings, Dunedin, were
appointed a polling-place and a principal polling-
place for the District of City of Dunedin, for the
election of Members of the House of Representatives:

And whereas it is expedient to abolish the same:

Now know ye that I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of New Zealand,
in pursuance of the power and authority in me vested
by the said Act, do hereby abolish the above-named
polling-place and principal polling-place for the Dis-
trict of City of Dunedin, for the election of Mem-
bers of the House of Representatives.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Council;
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; at Welling-
ton, this seventeenth day of June, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-eight.
