Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the an-
nexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections
against such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and
lodged with the Warden at Lawrence, on or before
the 12th day of July, 1878.
Copies of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Lawrence.

SCHEDULE.
APPLICANTS: Thomas Gilmore and others. Style
under which it is intended to conduct the business:
"The Derry Walls Cement Crushing Company."
Ten acres, in the Tuapeka Mining District (Section
68, Block X., Tuapeka East District).

pany." Ten acres of land, more or less, as the same
may be found after survey to be within the pegs and
trenches of the applicants, situate at Wetherstone's,
and being Section 67, Block X., and Section 11, Block
XIX., Tuapeka East.

2. Applicants: Edmond Walsh and Patrick Flynn.
Style under which it is intended to conduct the busi-
ness: "Pride of Longwood Quartz Mining Com-
pany." Four hundred by two hundred yards, in the
Longwood Mining District.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this third

Notification of Resignation of Seat in the House of
Representatives for Electoral District of Taieri.

IN compliance with the provisions of the thirteenth
section of "The Regulation of Elections Act,
1870," I hereby notify that Donald Reid, Esquire,
has resigned his seat in the House of Representatives
for the Electoral District of Taieri, and that his
letter of resignation was received by me on the
6th day of June, 1878; and that the said seat is
vacant by reason of such resignation.
