ways are hereby declared to be fixed. To take effect
from the 17th day of June, 1878:-

MISCELLANEOUS. - ROAD MATERIALS.

All material required for the construction and
maintenance of streets and roads to be carried at one
penny (1d.) per ton per mile, with a minimum charge
of five shillings (5s.) per truck of five tons load.

Notice under Section 12 of "The Public Revenues
Act, 1872."

Treasury,
Wellington, 14th May, 1878.

OFFICERS holding advances of Public Money are
hereby required to pay to the Public Account,
at the nearest branch of the Bank of New Zealand,
the total unexpended balances in their hands on or
before Saturday, the 29th day of June proximo, so
as to close absolutely all Advance Accounts on that
date, and forthwith to transmit the Bank Receipt for
such repayments to the Treasury at Wellington.

As respects disbursements which officers may re-
quire to make during the week following the close of
the financial year, requisitions for the amount re-
quired are to be made in such time as to enable them
to reach Wellington not later than the 22nd June,
so that the funds requisite may be placed at the
disposal of the officer on the 1st July.

Change of Purpose of Reserve at Gisborne,
Auckland.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Go-
vernor intends, under the provisions of the 148th
section of "The Land Act, 1877," to change the
specific purpose of the land described in the second
column of the Schedule hereto for which the land was

heretofore set apart as a reserve, as specified in the
first column of the said Schedule, to the specific
purpose specified in the third column of the said
Schedule.

Allotment No. 50, Town of Gisborne, one (1) rood, Pro- vincial District of Auckland. For public offi- ces. Provincial Gazette, 1874, No. 2, vol. xxiii., page 16. All that parcel of land in the Town of Gisborne, in the Provincial District of Auck- land, containing one (1) rood, more or less, being Allotment numbered fifty (50). Bounded towards the North-east by Allotments Nos. 53, 52, and 51, two hundred and fifty (250) links; towards the South- east by Lowe Street, one hun- dred (100) links; towards the South-west by Allot- ment No. 49, two hundred and fifty (250) links; and towards the North-west by Allotment No. 56, one hun- dred (100) links. As a site for a Mechanics' Institute.

£10,000 Bonus.

Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 22nd April, 1878.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in terms of a reso-
lution of the House of Representatives, the
Government of New Zealand will pay, by way of
bonus, the sum of five thousand pounds (£5,000) to
any individual or company who shall first produce
not less than five hundred (500) tons of marketable
sugar from beet grown and manufactured in the
North Island. Also that a like sum of five thousand
pounds (£5,000) will be paid to any individual or
company who shall first produce not less than five
hundred (500) tons of marketable sugar from beet
grown and manufactured in the Middle Island.
Such bonus to be paid upon its being duly certified
by the Commissioner of Crown Lands of the district
within which the sugar shall have been produced,
and by the Chairman of the nearest Chamber of
Commerce, that the minimum quantity hereinbefore
mentioned has been so produced, and is of market-
able quality: Provided further that such certificates
shall have been presented at the Colonial Treasury
within three years of the date above written.

Crown Grants.

Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 3rd June, 1878.

THE under-mentioned Deeds of Grant, having been
duly executed, are now ready for delivery at this
office, under the authority of "The Crown Grants
Act, 1866," and "The Crown Grants Amendment
Act, 1867."

A fee of sixpence is chargeable on each Crown
Grant for every month during which it shall remain
in this office after the expiration of three months
from the date of this notice.

In cases where it is impossible for the party en-
titled to receive the Grant to attend in person, it
will be delivered to the bearer of an authority accord-
ing to the subjoined form, certified by a Magistrate
or by a Solicitor of the Supreme Court.
