NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership
hitherto existing between the undersigned, in
the trade or business of Auctioneers and Commission
Agents, at Timaru, in the Provincial District of Can-
terbury, was on the twenty-first day of March last
dissolved by mutual consent; and in future the busi-
ness will be carried on by the said JOHN KING on his
separate account, and who will pay and receive all
debts owing from and to the said partnership in the
regular course of business.

I SHALL apply for Registration as Bachelor of
Medicine of the University of London, and
Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, England,
after the 9th proximo, with the intention of practising
in the colony.

Surgery, residing at Hamilton, in the said provincial
district, do hereby give notice that I intend to apply
to the Registrar for the District of Dunedin, on the
17th day of June, 1878, to have my name placed on
the Register of Medical Practitioners in the Colony
of New Zealand; and I have deposited my diplomas
along with this in the office of the said Registrar, in
Dunedin, for public inspection, in terms of "The
Medical Practitioners Act, 1869."

TAKE NOTICE that it is intended to construct a
Water-Race and divert three Government heads
of water, to be used for domestic, industrial, irriga-
tion, and finally for gold-mining purposes (when not
required for the aforesaid domestic, industrial, and
irrigation), commencing at a point in the gorge in
the Waikerikeri Creek, close to the head of James
Holt's Race, and terminating above the Dunstan
Hospital, on the east bank of the Molyneux.
The length of such race is eight (8) miles or
thereabouts, and its intended course is in conjunction
with James Holt's Race from the starting point as
far as Section 69, Block II., Leaning Rock District,
or thereabouts; thence through said Sections 69, 68, 300
67, 45, 44, 43, 42, and 41 of said block, held by the
freehold in the Waikerikeri Valley; and thence in
conjunction again with James Holt's Race, as far as
Williams Pound Farm; and thence through said
farm across the public road to Montecristo Farm
and thence to the point of destination through the
Dunstan Flat, on the Molyneux River.

A GENERAL Meeting of the Shareholders of the
Auckland Steam Packet Company, in Liquida-
tion, will be held at the Offices of Messrs. Combes
and Daldy, Queen Street, on Friday, the 21st of
June, 1878, at 3 p.m.
BUSINESS.
To consider the winding-up accounts of the
liquidation; and, if approved, to pass a
resolution that the affairs of the Company
have been fairly wound up, so that the said
Company may be dissolved.

APPLICATION FOR LEASE.
To the Warden at Ahaura.
I HEREBY apply for a Gold-mining Lease of the
lands hereinafter described, in accordance with
the Gold-mining Leases Regulations of New Zealand,
and I agree, upon the approval of this application,
to execute a lease upon the basis therein stated, if the
Governor shall think fit to grant the same.

Style under which it is intended to conduct the
business: North Star Quartz-Mining Company.
Extent of land applied for: 16½ acres.
Minimum number of men to be employed by the
lessee: Two men the first six months.
Amount of capital proposed to be invested:
£7,000.
Proposed mode of working the land: Water-
power and stampers.
Precise locality: Moonlight Ranges No. 1, north
of Allen McDonald's Prospecting Claim.
Term for which lease required: 15 years.
Time of commencing operations: When lease is
granted.
The above application, and any objection thereto,
will be heard at the Warden's Office, at Ahaura, on
the 16th May, 1878.
Any person desiring to object to the issue of a
mining lease upon the above application must, within
twenty-eight clear days from the date of such appli-
cation, enter his objection at the Warden's Office, at
Ahaura. 302
BY common consent, Mr. ISAAC PLIMMER has this
day retired from the firm of Plimmer, Reeves,
and Co.
