CATTLE, SHEEP, AND PIGS IMPORTATION PROHIBI-
TION.

By His Excellency FREDERICK ALOYSIUS WELD,
Esquire, Companion of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief
in and over the Colony of Tasmania and its
Dependencies.

A PROCLAMATION

I, FREDERICK ALOYSIUS WELD, Esquire, Companion
of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief as aforesaid, by virtue of section 23 of "The
Customs Act" (25 Victoria, No. 3), and with the
advice of the Executive Council, do, with a view to
prevent infectious and contagious distempers and
diseases among cattle, sheep, and pigs, hereby pro-
hibit the importation into Tasmania of cattle, sheep,
and pigs from every port and place, save and except
such as appertain and belong to the respective
Colonies of Victoria, New South Wales, Queens-
land, South Australia, Western Australia, and New
Zealand.

Given under my hand at Hobart Town, in
Tasmania aforesaid, this tenth day of
December, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven.

"The Public Health Act, 1876," His Excellency
the Governor has been pleased to appoint the under-
mentioned gentleman to be a Public Vaccinator, to
perform gratuitous vaccination in accordance with
the provisions of the said Act, and any regulations
made or to be made thereunder, for the districts men-
tioned in the Schedule hereto and set opposite his
name.
