"Auckland Dog Nuisance Act, 1854," in force within
the County of Waitemata.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council
of Auckland intituled "The Auckland Dog
Nuisance Act (Session I., No. 4), 1854," it is, among
other things, enacted that the said Act shall come
into operation in such districts as shall be proclaimed
by the Superintendent in the Auckland Provincial
Gazette to come within the operation of the said Act:
And whereas the powers vested in the Superin-
tendent by the said Act are now, by "The Abolition
of Provinces Act, 1875," vested in the Governor:
And whereas it is expedient that the district com-
prised within the County of Waitemata should be
proclaimed to come within the operation of the said
first-mentioned Act:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that,
on and from the date of this Proclamation, the said
"Dog Nuisance Act, 1854," shall come into operation
within the district comprised in the County of
Waitemata, and the said Act shall extend and apply
to the said County of Waitemata accordingly.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and St. George; Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Depen-
dencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same;
and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at
Auckland, this twenty-second day of
March, in the year of our Lord one thou-
sand eight hundred and seventy-eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the Ordinance of
the Province of Canterburyintituled "The Canterbury
Trespass of Cattle Ordinance, 1872," and by "The
Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," I, George Augus-
tus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and declare that, on and from the date hereof, that
portion of the Provincial District of Canterbury
described in the Schedule hereto shall be included
within the agricultural district referred to in Schedule
B of the said "Canterbury Trespass of Cattle Ordi-
nance, 1872."
SCHEDULE.
THE Levels District comprises that portion of the
Provincial District of Canterbury not included in
the Town of Timaru, and bounded on the North
by the Temuka, Geraldine, and Mount Peel Road
Districts; on the East by the sea; on the South
by the Pareora River; on the South-west by
the eastern boundary of Section No. 20518, and
the south-eastern boundary of the same section,
and by a line in continuation of that boundary to
meet the Burke's Pass Road, by that road to where
it crosses the River Tengawai, thence by that river
to the south-east corner of Section 21315, thence by
a straight line to the north-west corner of section
3279, and by the west boundary of that section to
the junction of the Burke's Pass Road with the road
