Queenstown, 20th February, 1878.

WE hereby give notice that we intend to con-
struct a Water-race and divert water for
mining purposes, commencing at a point about one
mile and a half up Pleasant Creek, thence down
south side of said creek, thence across Pleasant
Creek Terrace, and terminating at our claim on the
south side of Pleasant Creek Terrace.

The length of such race is two and a quarter miles
or thereabouts, and its intended course is east and
west down the creek, and north and south across the
terrace.

The mean depth and breadth of such race is
eighteen inches by two feet six inches, and it is
proposed to divert ten Government heads of water.
The time estimated for the completion of such
race is three days.

A reservoir in connection therewith is constructed
in Pleasant Creek Terrace, near our claim.

NOTICE is hereby given that an Extraordinary
General Meeting of the Tookey Tribute Com-
pany (Limited) will be held at Mr. Tothill's office,
Shortland Street, Auckland, on Monday, the twenty-
fifth day of March, instant, at 2 o'clock p.m., for
the purpose of passing, if approved, the following
resolution: "That the Tookey Tribute Company
(Limited) be wound up voluntarily;" and of appoint-
ing a Liquidator or Liquidators. And also that an
Extraordinary General Meeting of the same Com-
pany will be held at the same hour and place, on
Friday, the twenty-sixth day of April next, for the
purpose of confirming the above resolution.

I, the undersigned, hereby make application to
register the Macetown Quartz Crushing Com-
pany as a Limited Company, under the provisions
of "The Mining Company's Act, 1872."

  1. The name of the Company is to be the Macetown Quartz
    Crushing Company (Limited).
  2. The place of operations is at Macetown, in Lake County.
  3. The registered office of the Company will be situated at
    Buckingham Street, Arrowtown.
  4. The nominal capital of the Company is two thousand five
    hundred pounds, in five hundred shares of five pounds each.
  5. The number of shares subscribed for is four hundred and
    sixty-three, being not less than two-thirds of the entire number
    in the Company.
  6. The number of paid-up shares is one hundred.
  7. The amount already paid up is one hundred and eighty-
    one pounds ten shillings.
  8. The name of the Manager is John Orson McArdell.
  9. The names, addresses, and occupations of the shareholders,
    and the number of shares held by each at this date, are as
