Land temporarily reserved in the Provincial District
of Westland.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which in his opinion are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in
the Provincial District of Westland described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the
said Schedule specified.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land consisting of three
hundred and seventy-six (376) acres, more or less,
numbered two hundred and eight (208) (in red) on the
map of the Mahinapua Survey District. Bounded to-
wards the West by the Ross Road; towards the North
by a line in continuation of northern boundary of
Mahinapua Township; ; towards the East by the HG
line; and towards the South by the southernmost
branch of Frosty Creek and Frosty Creek. For the
preservation of timber.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this eighteenth day of Decem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight.

District of Canterbury, containing twenty-five (25)
acres, more or less, being Section numbered 2374 (in
red). Bounded towards the North by a road line for
a distance of about 15 chains 30 links; towards the
East by a road line, and also by Section numbered
25095, a distance altogether of about 15 chains 30
links; towards the South-east by Section numbered
31701 for a distance of about 14 chains; and towards
the West by Crown lands for a distance of about 21
chains: as the same is delineated on the official map
in the Provincial District Survey Office, Christchurch.
As a site and grounds for school.
All that area in the Temuka Road District, Pro-
vincial District of Canterbury, containing five (5)
acres, more or less. Bounded on the North-east
and South-east by road lines, 10 chains and 5 chains
respectively; and on the North-west and South-
west by Section numbered 27712, 5 chains and 10
chains respectively, and numbered 2375 (in red) on
the official map in the Provincial District Survey
Office, Christchurch. For a school site.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the

8 chains; towards the South-west by a road line for
a distance of about 7 chains; and towards the North-
west by Crown lands for a distance of about 8 chains
50 links: as the same is delineated on the official
map in the Provincial District Survey Office, Christ-
church. For a gravel pit.
All that area in the Ashley Road District, Pro-
vincial District of Canterbury, containing five (5)
acres, more or less, being Section numbered 2337 (in
red). Bounded towards the West by Section 27487
for a distance of about 10 chains; towards the North
by a road line for a distance of about 5 chains; to-
wards the South by Crown lands for a distance of
about 5 chains; and towards the East by Crown
lands for a distance of about 10 chains as the same
is delineated on the official map in the Provincial
District Survey Office, Christchurch. For a gravel
pit.
All that area in the Ashley Road District, Pro-
vincial District of Canterbury, containing five (5)
acres, more or less, being Section numbered 2338 (in
red). Bounded towards the East by Section 12645
for a distance of about 10 chains; towards the South
by a road line for a distance of about 6 chains 75
links; towards the West by a road line for a distance
of about 8 chains; and towards the North by Crown
lands for a distance of about 7 chains 75 links: as
