THE following report, relative to the issue to
officers, non-commissioned officers, and men of
the Colonial Forces, of the New Zealand War
Medal, is published for general information.

MAY IT PLEASE YOUR EXCELLENCY, -
In accordance with instructions conveyed by the
commission of the 3rd September, 1872, I, the under-
signed Commissioner, appointed to examine and
report on the claims made by officers and men of the
Colonial Forces to the New Zealand War Medal, do
now most respectfully submit for your Excellency's
consideration the enclosed Rolls A, B, and C, con-
taining the names of the applicants, both European
and Native, whose applications for the decoration
having been referred to me, I have, since the publica-
tion of my last report on the 27th April, 1877,
admitted the correctness of their claims.
