appointed.
NOTICE. His Honor the Chief Justice has ap-
pointed PHILIP HENRY FOWELL-WATTS, of
No. 6, South Square, Gray's Inn, Holborn, in the
County of Middlesex, in England, and of No. 1,
Montague Road West, West Hackney, in the same
county, Gentleman, one of the Solicitors of the
Supreme Court of Judicature in England, and
MONTAGUE COHEN, of No. 12, Collins Street West,
in the City of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria,
a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria, to be
Commissioners in England and Victoria respectively
for the purpose of taking any oath, affidavit, or
affirmation, and for taking acknowledgments by
married women, under the second and fourth sections
of "The Commissioners of the Supreme Court Act,
1875."

Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant leases of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such leases.
Objections to the granting of such leases, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and
lodged with the Warden at Greymouth, on or before
the 18th day of November, 1878.
Copy of the applications made and plans annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Greymouth.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANTS: Joseph Taylor and party. Style under
which it is intended to conduct the business: "Just
in Time Company." 16 acres 2 roods, near Lang-
don's Creek, Nelson South-West Mining District.
Applicant: George Ross. Style under which it is

A GENERAL Meeting of the Shareholders of the
Golconda Gold-Mining Company (Limited), in
liquidation, will be held in the office of Mr. R.
Horne, Shortland Street, Auckland, on Monday,
December 2nd, 1878, at 12 o'clock noon.
Business: To consider the winding-up accounts of
the Liquidator, and, if approved, to pass a resolution
that the affairs of the Company have been fairly
wound-up, so that the said Company may be dis-
solved.
