IT is hereby notified for general information that
Saturday, 9th November, the anniversary of the
Prince of Wales' Birthday, will be observed as a
general holiday at all Post Offices and Telegraph
Stations throughout the colony.
At Telegraph Stations Sunday hours will be ob-
served.

Appointment of Commissioner of Wairoa Confiscated Lands.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint
JOHN THOMAS TYLEE, Esq.,
the Commissioner of Crown Lands at Napier, to be
the Wairoa Confiscated Lands Commissioner, under
the Regulations made by Order in Council of the 4th
March, 1874, for the sale and disposal of the lands
specified in the said Order in Council.

Change of Purpose of Reserve in the Provincial
District of Canterbury.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Go-
vernor intends, under the provisions of the one
hundred and forty-eighth section of "The Land Act,
1877," to change the specific purpose of the land
described in the second column of the Schedule
hereto, for which the land was heretofore set apart
as a reserve, as specified in the first column of the
said Schedule, to the specific purpose specified in
the third column of the said Schedule.
