to be a Ranger of Crown Lands for the Westland
Land District, as from the 1st of January instant.

Sheep Inspector's Notice.

Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 21st January, 1878.

THE Inspector for the Wanganui District reports
that the number of sheep within his boundaries
on which assessment has been paid are 139,875, being
an increase of 10,419 over the years 1876, 1877;
and that the fees paid amount to Β£291 7s. 7\u00bdd.
Two or three flocks only are reported diseased.

Notification of Resignation of Seat in the House of
Representatives for Electoral District of the City
of Wellington.

IN compliance with the provisions of the thirteenth
section of "The Regulation of Elections Act,
1870," I hereby notify that William Thomas Locke
Travers, Esquire, resigned his seat in the House of
Representatives for the Electoral District of the
City of Wellington, on the twenty-fifth day of
January, 1878; and that the said seat is vacant by
reason of such resignation.

Dated at Wellington, the twenty-eighth day of
January, 1878.

Esquire, resigned his seat in the House of Repre-
sentatives for the Electoral District of Parnell, on
the twenty-first day of January, 1878; and that the
said seat is vacant by reason of such resignation.
