All that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement seventy (70)
acres, more or less, being Section numbered two
thousand two hundred and forty-four (2244) (in red),
situate in the Ashburton District. Bounded towards
the North-east by the River Ashburton for a distance
of about ninety-eight (98) chains; towards the South-
east by a road line for a distance of about ten (10)
chains; towards the South-west by a road line for a
distance of about ninety (90) chains; and towards
the North-west by Section numbered twenty-five
thousand and fifty-four (25054) for a distance of
about seven (7) chains: as the same is delineated on
the plans deposited in the Provincial District Survey
Office, Christchurch. For protective works, River
Ashburton.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement five (5) acres,
more or less, being Section numbered two thousand
two hundred and fifty (2250) (in red), situate in the
Ashley District. Bounded towards the North by a
road line for a distance of five (5) chains; towards
the East by Section numbered twenty-eight thousand
three hundred and ninety (28390) for a distance of
ten (10) chains; and towards the West and South by
Crown lands for distances respectively of ten (10)
chains and five (5) chains: as the same is delineated
on the plans deposited in the Provincial District
Survey Office, Christchurch. For a gravel pit.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement five (5) acres,
more or less, being Section numbered two thousand
two hundred and fifty-one (2251) (in red), situate in
the Ashley District. Bounded towards the South-
west by a road line for a distance of five (5) chains;
towards the South-east by Section numbered twenty-
one thousand six hundred and seventeen (21617) for
a distance of one thousand and twenty-one (1021)
links; and towards the North-west and North-east
by Crown lands for distances respectively of one
thousand and twenty-one (1021) links and five (5)
chains: as the same is delineated on the plans de-
posited in the Provincial District Survey Office,
Christchurch. For a gravel pit.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement five (5) acres,
more or less, being Section numbered two thousand
two hundred and fifty-two (2252) (in red), situate in
the Ashley District. Bounded towards the North-
ward and Westward by road lines for distances
respectively of five (5) chains and ten (10) chains;
and towards the Eastward and Southward by Crown
lands for distances respectively of ten (10) chains
and five (5) chains; as the same is delineated on the
plans deposited in the Provincial District Survey
Office, Christchurch. For a gravel-pit.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement five (5) acres,
more or less, being Section numbered two thousand
two hundred and fifty-three (2253) (in red), situate
in the Cust District. Bounded towards the East-
ward by a road line for a distance of five (5) chains;
towards the Southward by Section numbered twenty-
three thousand three hundred and fifty-two (23352)
for a distance of ten (10) chains; and towards the
Northward and Westward respectively by Crown
lands for distances of ten (10) chains and five (5)
chains: as the same is delineated on the plans
deposited in the Provincial District Survey Office,
Christchurch. For a gravel pit.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twenty-ninth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight.

Land temporarily reserved in the Provincial District
of Hawke's Bay.

NORMANBY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-
fourth section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is
enacted, that the Governor may from time to time,
either by general or particular description, and
whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve
from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same
may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown
lands which in his opinion are required for an of
the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in
the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay, described in
the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in
the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Hawke's Bay, being a portion of a reserve containing
sixteen acres and one rood, situate at Ormondville,
in the Seventy-Mile Bush, and containing by ad-
measurement four (4) acres, more or less. Bounded
towards the North-east by other portion of said
reserve set apart as a site for school, &c.; towards
the North-west by a public road; towards the South-
west by Section No. 142, three hundred and forty
(340) links; and towards the South-east by the
Railway Reserve three hundred and ninety-six (396)
links, and by other portion of the reserve first above-
mentioned set apart for railway purposes. As a site
for a cemetery.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twenty-ninth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-eight.

Fixing Sittings of District Court of Otago Gold
Fields.

NORMANBY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority in this behalf enabling me, I, George
Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
fix and appoint that sittings of the District Court of
the Otago Gold Fields for Civil and Criminal busi-
ness shall be held as follows, in lieu of those previously
fixed and appointed:β€”

In the Resident Magistrate's Courthouse at
Naseby, on the twenty-eighth day of January,
the twenty-fifth day of March, the twenty-
seventh day of May, the twenty-ninth day of
July, the twenty-third day of September, and
the twenty-fifth day of November in each
year.

In the Resident Magistrate's Courthouse at
Clyde, on the fourth day of February, the
first day of April, the third day of June, the
fifth day of August, the thirtieth day of Sep-
tember, and the second day of December in
each year.

In the Resident Magistrate's Courthouse at
Cromwell, on the seventh day of February, the
fourth day of April, the sixth day of June,
the eighth day of August, the third day of
October, and the fifth day of December in
each year.
