SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury, containing by admeasurement one (1)
acre two (2) roods, more or less, situate in the
Town of South Rakaia, being Sections numbered
324 fronting on the South Rakaia Road West and
Cridland Street, 326 fronting on South Rakaia Road
West, 325 fronting on Cridland Street and Rolleston
Street, and 327, 329, 331, and 333 fronting on Rolles-
ton Street. As a site for a police station.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twenty-ninth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-eight.

NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
a general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which in his opinion are required for any of the pur-
poses in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in
the Provincial District of Canterbury described in the
Schedule hereunder written for the respective pur-
poses in the said Schedule specified.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement eighteen (18)
acres, more or less, being Section numbered two
thousand two hundred and twelve (2212) (in red),
situate in the Rakaia District. Bounded towards
the East by Section numbered one thousand seven
hundred and fifty-seven (1757) (in red) for a dis-
tance of about twenty (20) chains; towards the
North by Section numbered one thousand nine hun-
dred and seventeen (1917) (in red) for a distance of
about nine (9) chains; towards the West by a road
line for a distance of about thirteen (13) chains;
and towards the South by Section numbered twenty
two thousand and nine (22009) for a distance of about
fifteen (15) chains: as the same is delineated on the
plans deposited in the Provincial District Survey
Office, Christchurch. For a gravel pit.
North by a road line for a distance of about two (2)
chains; towards the North-west by Section num-
bered twenty-four thousand eight hundred and eight
(24808) for a distance of about fifteen (15) chains;
towards the South by Crown lands for a distance of
about thirteen (13) chains; and towards the East by
Crown lands for a distance of about ten (10) chains;
as the same is delineated on the plans deposited in
the Provincial District Survey Office, Christchurch.
For a gravel pit.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement five (5) acres,
more or less, being Section numbered two thousand
two hundred and fifteen (2215) (in red), situate in
the Courtenay District. Bounded towards the West
by Section numbered two thousand one hundred and
ninety-four (2194) (in red) for a distance of about
fifteen (15) chains; towards the North-east by a road
line for a distance of about thirteen (13) chains;
and towards the South-east by Crown lands for a
distance of about ten (10) chains; as the same is
delineated on the plans deposited in the Provincial
District Survey Office, Christchurch. For a gravel
pit.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement five (5) acres,
more or less, being Section numbered two thousand
two hundred and thirteen (2213) (in red), situate in
the Courtenay District. Bounded towards the North
by a road line for a distance of five (5) chains;
towards the East by Section numbered twenty-seven
thousand nine hundred and twenty-five (27925) for
a distance of ten (10) chains ; ; towards the South by
Crown lands for a distance of five (5) chains; and
towards the West by Crown lands for a distance of
ten (10) chains: as the same is delineated on the
plans deposited in the Provincial District Survey
Office, Christchurch. For a gravel pit.

more or less, being Section numbered two thousand
two hundred and sixteen (2216) (in red), situate in
the Courtenay District. Bounded towards the
North-west by Section numbered twenty-five thou-
sand eight hundred and forty-three (25843) for a
distance of ten (10) chains; towards the North-east
by Crown lands for a distance of five (5) chains;
towards the South-east by Crown lands for a distance
of ten (10) chains; and towards the South-west by
a road line for a distance of five (5) chains; as the
same is delineated on the plans deposited in the
Provincial District Survey Office, Christchurch. For

sand two hundred and forty-two (19242) inclusive, for
a distance of about four (4) chains; towards the South-
west by a road line for a distance of about eleven (11)
chains; and towards the South-east by Crown lands
for a distance of about eight (8) chains; as the same
is delineated on the plans deposited in the Provin-
