THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Creek, thence by the said creek to its source, and
by a right line thence to the summit of Black Um-
brella Mountain, thence by right lines from peak to
peak along the range between the western branch of
the Waitaka River and the Otama Creek to the
southern boundary of Run No. 193, and by that
boundary to the Mataura River; thence towards the
West by the Mataura River to its source, and by a
right line to the summit of Eyre Peak, and thence by
right lines from peak to peak along the western
watershed of Lake Wakatipu to a point due east of
Mount Christina; thence again towards the South by
a right line to the summit of Mount Christina, by a
right line thence to the nearest source of the Cleddan
River, and by that river and the southern shore of
Milford Sound to the sea; and thence again towards
the West by the sea to the mouth of the Awarua
River, the commencing point.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl
of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-third day of January, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-eight.

Boundaries of District Court District of Dunedin
altered.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The District Courts Act, 1858,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor from time to time, as he shall think fit, by
Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, to con-
stitute throughout the colony, or in any part thereof,
districts within which District Courts shall be re-
spectively held, and such districts to abolish, and the
boundaries thereof to define or alter:

And whereas by a Proclamation bearing date the
twentieth day of February, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-four, a district was defined within
which a District Court should be held under the said
Act, and it was thereby declared that the said Court
should be designated by the name of "The Dunedin
District Court:

And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries
of the said district so defined as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after
the first day of February next, the boundaries of the
district within which the Dunedin District Court
shall be held shall be altered, and that thenceforth
the boundaries thereof shall be the boundaries here-
inafter described.

DUNEDIN DISTRICT COURT.
Description of District.

THE Dunedin District shall comprise all that por-
tion of the Provincial District of Otago bounded
towards the North by the Otago Gold Fields Dis-
trict under "The District Courts Act, 1858," from
Trigonometrical Station E on the Silver Peak Hills,
by a right line running due east to a point on the
north branch of the Waikouaiti River, distant from
the confluence of the north and south branches of
said river three hundred and ninety chains, more or
less; thence by the Waikouaiti River to the ocean;
towards the East by the ocean; towards the South
by the southern bank of Taieri River and branch to
the Waipori Lake; thence by the Waipori Lake and
the Meggatburn until it meets the boundary of the
Otago Gold Fields District under the said "District
Courts Act, 1858;" and on the West by the said
Otago Gold Fields District under the said Act to
afore-mentioned Trigonomtrical Station E, the point
of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the

Lands Act, 1877."

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Confiscated Lands Act,
1867," it is, among other things, enacted that
it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time,
as he shall think fit, by Proclamation in the New
Zealand Gazette
, to reserve out of lands taken under
the said Act, or out of lands which by "The East
Coast Land Titles Investigation Act, 1866," and
"The East Coast Titles Investigation Act Amend-
ment Act, 1867," it is provided shall be deemed to
be Crown lands, such lands as to him shall seem fit:

And whereas the said several parcels of land de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto are lands taken under
"The New Zealand Settlements Act, 1863:" And
whereas by "The Volunteers and Others Lands Act,
1877," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the
provisions of "The Confiscated Lands Act, 1867,"
shall continue in operation, and shall be deemed to
have been always in operation in respect of any
reserves promised to Natives, or set apart for Natives
under the said Act at any time previous to the coming
into operation of "The Waste Lands Administration
Act, 1876," but which, for want of surveys or other
unavoidable causes, could not be proclaimed previous
