Appointments of Papers in lieu of Provincial
Gazettes for the insertion of Notifications.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the twelfth section of "The
Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," it is,
among other things, enacted that in every Act of
the General Assembly, except such as relate to the
election of Superintendents and Provincial Councils,
and to legislation by such Councils, and the appoint-
ment of Deputy Superintendents, and to audit of
provincial accounts, and matters of a like kind, and
in every Act or Ordinance of the Legislature of an
abolished province under the said Act, the expres-
sion "Provincial Gazette," or "Provincial Govern-
ment Gazette," or other similar expressions, should,
with respect to any provincial district, be deemed to
mean "The New Zealand Gazette," or such news-
paper as from time to time may be appointed by the
Governor, for the purpose of inserting therein notifi-
cations of any kind relating to the Government of
the colony or the administration of the Government
within any provincial district: And whereas His
Excellency the Governor has heretofore appointed
the several newspapers specified in the first column
of the First Schedule hereto to be the newspapers
for inserting such notifications as aforesaid within the
several provincial districts specified in the second
column of the said Schedule, and whereas it is expe-
dient to revoke such appointments and to appoint
other newspapers in lieu thereof:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of every
power and authority enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby revoke the appointments so made as afore-
said, and in lieu thereof do hereby appoint the news-
papers specified in the first column of the Second
Schedule hereto to be the newspapers for the
purpose of inserting therein notifications of the
nature above-mentioned, within the provincial dis-
trict named opposite the name of each newspaper
respectively in such Schedule.

Making Rates, Dues, and Charges for use of Adair's
New Wharf, Turanganui, Gisborne, Poverty Bay.
NORMANBY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by "The Marine Act,
1867," and "The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875,"
I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Nor-
manby, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby impose and levy the following rates, dues,
and charges for the use of Adair's Wharf, at Tura-
nganui, Gisborne, Poverty Bay, and for the landing
of goods, wares, merchandise, and cattle thereat and
thereon, that is to say,-
FOR VESSELS HAULING ALONGSIDE THE WHARF.
Under 50 tons, per day or part of a day ... 5 s. d.
Over 50 tons and under 100 tons, per day
or part of a day ... ... ... 7 6
100 tons and upwards, per day or part of a
day ... ... ... 10 0
FOR GOODS, ETC., LANDED ON THE WHARF.

Appointing Land Offices at which the Land Boards of
the several Districts shall sit.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the first subsection of the twenty-
fifth section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is
enacted that "the Board shall sit at such Land
Office within the district as the Governor shall
appoint (which shall be called the Principal Land
Office), at certain times to be determined by the
Board and approved of by the Governor, and pub-
lished in the Gazette:"
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the Land Offices
hereunder mentioned to be the places at which the
Land Boards for the several districts constituted
under the said Act shall sit for the conduct of busi-
ness; and such Land Offices shall be the Principal
Land Offices for the said districts respectively:-
For the Auckland Land) The Principal Land Office,
District, } Auckland.
For the Taranaki Land } The Principal Land Office,
District, New Plymouth.
For the Hawke's Bay } The Principal Land Office,
Land District, Napier.
For the Wellington Land } The Principal Land Office,
District, Wellington.
