a Commissioner under section 31 of "The Financial
Arrangements Act, 1876," to inquire into and deter-
mine the proportionate part of the moneys made
payable by the said Act to the districts included in
the county set opposite to his name:—

Members of the Tuhikaramea Highway Board
appointed.

NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS at the first annual meeting of the
ratepayers of the Tuhikaramea Highway Dis-
trict, in the Provincial District of Auckland, held on
the twenty-fifth day of August last, the person ap-
pointed to be Chairman of the meeting summoned
for that date failed to attend, and the ratepayers
were unable to elect a Board of Trustees and Audi-
tors for the ensuing year, and it is expedient to ap-
point a District Board and Auditors, as is authorized
by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
and by "The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," do
hereby appoint

F. J. VICKERS,
F. W. LANG,
J. FREW,
E. B. Cox, and
JAMES WELLS,
to be the District Board of the Tuhikaramea High-
way District for the ensuing year.
And I do further appoint

ALLAN MACNAB TAYLOR, and
J. GLASSON,
to be Auditors of the aforesaid Highway Board for
the ensuing year.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twelfth day of November,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven.

The Treasury,
Wellington, 14th November, 1877.
UNDER the provisions of "The Public Payments
without Probate Act, 1869," and the regula-
tions made thereunder, published in the New Zealand
Gazette of 1870, page 212, the Colonial Treasurer
intends to make a payment of money due the above-
named deceased to a person not being his legal
representative. All persons objecting to such pay-
ment being made must give notice to the Colonial
Treasurer, at Wellington, within one calendar month
from the date of the Gazette bearing this notice, when
their objections will be considered.
