THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

O'Kane's Commercial Hotel, Mosgiel, in the Road
District of North Taieri; and at the Railway Station,
Abbotsford, in the Road District of Kaikorai.

The works proposed comprise a Race or Aqueduct,
with Tunnels and Fluming, a Service Reservoir, Fil-
ter Beds, Supply Tank, and Pipe Track, together with
such Roads, Tracks, appurtenances, and appliances as
are necessary for giving access to and working the
same.

It is also proposed to acquire and use the waters
of the following streams:-Abbott's Creek, Water-
fall Creek, Gow's Creek, Flagstaff Creek, McQuil-
lean's Creek, Whare Creek (south branch), Whare
Creek (north branch), Coal Creek, North Coal
Creek, Silverstream (main or east branch), and Sil-
verstream (west branch), or Powder Creek, and all
intervening streams and watercourses.

The main race or aqueduct commences at a point
in Silverstream about 85 chains in a north-westerly
direction from Trigonometrical Station Q, and pass-
ing through and into the following territorial divi-
sions:-Silver Peak Survey District, Dunedin and
East Taieri Survey District, Taieri Survey District,
Lower Kaikorai Survey District, Town Survey Dis-
trict; terminates at the western end of the Look-out
Point Railway Tunnel, in Section 45, Block VI.,
Town District.

It is also intended to construct subsidiary races
at the intersections of the intermediate streams
above mentioned.

The Service Reservoir, Filter Beds, and Supply
Tank will be situated on Sections 61, 42, 44, 45, and
60, Block VI., Dunedin and East Taieri District, and
the Pipe Track extends from thence to the western
end of the Look-out Point Railway Tunnel, in Sec-
tion 45, Block VI., of the Town District.

The following is a Schedule of the lands to be in-
tersected and occupied by the said works:-
Silver Peak Survey District.-Crown lands, streams,
and watercourses.

Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District.-In
Block IV., Sections numbered 39, 2 of 45, 1 of 45, 4
of 45, 3 of 45, 1 of 38, 2 of 38, 37, 48, or Bush Re-
serve 40, 1 of 36, 36, 46, 47, 29, 2 of 30, 26, 25, 22,
21, 24, 20, 19, 17, 16, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and all intervening
lands, roads, streams, and watercourses. In Block
VI., Sections 1 of 1, 2 of 1, 4, 5, 6, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19,
21, 24, 33, 34, 40, 42, 61, 44, 45, 60, and all inter-
vening lands, roads, streams, and watercourses. In
Block VII., Sections 6, 5, and all intervening lands,
roads, streams, and watercourses.

In Taieri Survey District.-In irregular block,
Sections 42, 43, and all intervening lands, roads,
streams, and watercourses. In Block XIII., Section
1, and all intervening lands, roads, streams, and
watercourses.

In Lower Kaikorai Survey District.-Sections 46,
45, 33, and all intervening lands, roads, streams, and
watercourses.

In Town District.-Block VI., Section 45, and all
intervening lands, roads, streams, and watercourses.

All persons affected by the proposed scheme are
hereby called upon and required to set forth in
writing any well-grounded objections to the execution
of the works, or to the taking of the land and
streams above described or any of them; such ob-
jections to be made to the Town Clerk of the above-
named Corporation, at the office of the said Corpo-
ration in Dunedin aforesaid, within forty days from
the first publication of this notice.

In the matter of "The Mining Companies Act,
1872," and in the matter of the Great Extended
Sluicing Company (Registered).

NOTICE is hereby given, that WILLIAM DUGUID
MORRISON, of Tuapeka, Gold Miner, has been
appointed Manager of the Great Extended Sluicing
Company (Registered), in the place of James Barclay,
late Manager, deceased.

in Surgery of the University of Glasgow, now
residing at Mosgiel, East Taieri, do hereby give
notice that I intend to apply, on the 17th day of
November next, to have my name placed on the
Register of Medical Practitioners in the Colony of
New Zealand; and that I have this day deposited
with the Registrar at Dunedin the evidence of my
qualifications, in terms of "The Medical Practitioners
Act, 1864."
