NOTICE is hereby given, that a Petition will be
forthwith presented to His Excellency George
Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, Go-
vernor over Her Most Gracious Majesty's Colony of
New Zealand, K.G.C., &c., praying that the lands
comprised within the under-mentioned boundaries
may be proclaimed a borough, under the name of
"The Borough of Carterton," within the meaning
of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876." The
boundaries of the proposed borough are as follow:-
Commencing at the point where the western side of
the main road from Wellington to Masterton touches
the northern bank of the Waiohine River, and follow-
ing the northern bank of the said Waiohine River to
the point of confluence of the said Waiohine River
with the Maungatauera River, then following the
eastern bank of the said Maungatauera River till it
touches the south-western point of the north-western
boundary line of the Section numbered 137 on the
plan of the Taratahi Plain Block; thence by a line
bearing south-east by east to the extreme northern
point of the Section numbered 144 on the said plan;
thence by the south-western side of a Government
road to the extreme eastern point of the Section
numbered 119 on the said plan; thence by the north-
western side of a Government road to the extreme
southern boundary point of the Section numbered
185 on the said plan; and thence by a line bearing
west by south, crossing the Native reserve on the
said Taratahi Plain Block, to the point of commence-
ment.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership
heretofore existing between WILLIAM PARSONS
and THOMAS PARSONS, as Sheepfarmers at Puketapu,
in the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay, and at
Waitotara, in the Provincial District of Wellington,
has been dissolved as from the twentieth day of
March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven. The business at Puketapu will be carried on
by the said Thomas Parsons, and the business at
Waitotara by the said William Parsons.

thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven.

Otago Daily Times and Witness Company (Limited),
held respectively on the third day of August, 1877,
and the twenty-sixth day of September, 1877, in the
Otago Daily Times offices, at Dunedin, the following
special resolution was duly passed:-
"That the Otago Daily Times and Witness Com-
pany (Limited) be wound up voluntarily, in terms
of "The Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860."
