THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby proclaim
and declare that, from the sixteenth day of October,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven, the
said Town of Cromwell shall be a borough con-
stituted under the said "Municipal Corporations
Act, 1876, and shall be called the Borough of
Cromwell; and that the boundaries of such borough
shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 600 acres, more or less.
Bounded towards the North by a line commencing
on the west bank of the Clutha River, and proceeding
in a westerly direction, with a magnetic bearing of
269Β° 25' to the north-east corner of Cemetery
Reserve, four thousand one hundred (4100) links;
thence along a line in the same direction, seven
thousand one hundred (7100) links; thence by a
line at a right angle in a southerly direction, six
thousand nine hundred and forty (6940) links;
thence by a line at a right angle in an easterly
direction to the Kawarau River, four thousand nine
hundred (4900) links; thence along the Kawarau
and Clutha Rivers to the starting point; as deli-
neated on the record map of the said town, deposited
in the survey office at Dunedin.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl
of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George; Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal
of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day
of October, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven.
