BETWEEN Karaitiana Takamoana, plaintiff, and Frederick Sutton, Paora Torotoro, Ahere Te
Koare, Nikera Whitingara, Tareha, Urupene Puhara, Erueti Ngamu, Samuel Locke, Tareha
Moananui, and Robert Donald Douglas McLean, defendants.

WHEREAS by an Order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, made on the twenty-fourth day of
July last, it was referred to the Native Land Court to ascertain and determine forthwith the
following issues of fact :-

  1. To what share, estate, or interest did the plaintiff become entitled in the land in the declaration
    mentioned, being all the land comprised in a grant from the Crown, dated the third day of September, one
    thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, by virtue of the said grant—that is to say, all that piece or parcel of
    land containing one thousand two hundred and fifty-three (1,253) acres, more or less, situate at Manga-
    teretere, in the District of Ahuriri, called or known by the name of Mangateretere West, and numbered
    eight N (8N). Bounded towards the South, the West, and the North-west by the Ngaruroro River;
    towards the North-east by the Hikutoto Block, 3850 links; towards the East by the Mangateretere East Block
    2141 links, 4550 links, 883 links, and 5785 links, as the same was delineated by the plan drawn thereon, and
    was granted to the plaintiff and one Te Waaka Kawatini and one Karauria Tamaiwhakakiteaterangi, and the
    defendants Paora Torotoro, Tareha, Urupene Puhara, Ahere Te Koare, Erueti Ngamu, and Nikera Whiti-
    ngara, their heirs and assigns.

  2. To what share, estate, or interest did the defendant Paoaa Torotoro become entitled in the said land
    by virtue of the said grant?

  3. To what share, estate, or interest did the defendant Tareha become entitled in the said land by
    virtue of the said grant?

  4. To what share, estate, or interest did the defendant Urupene Puhara become entitled in the said
    land by virtue of the said grant?

  5. To what share, estate, or interest did the defendant Ahere Te Koare become entitled in the said
    land by virtue of the said grant?

  6. To what share, estate, or interest did the defendant Erueti Ngamu become entitled in the said land
    by virtue of the said grant?
